THE DARK AGES CAN BE FUN by John W. Cassell

"Always look on the bright side," my dear Irish grandma used to tell me. Well forty years later I finally gave it a try...and she was right! **************** For awhile there we had the dumbest three people ever running for president. We're down to two as one of the two dumbest got axed.

Small comfort though. There was a time when nitwits as candidates meant they were being controlled by unseen forces. I only WISH that were true now. Unseen forces were at least smart enough to remain in the background...content to get results. Usually they were men used to getting results... and they weren't about to let the political system they controlled bleed to death.

Alas....I doubt that's the case now. You know the ancient Mayans predicted the end of the world in 2012. Astrologers are going nuts over what the stars appear to hold for the next four years. Our enemies have nuclear weapons and would consider it an honor setting them off and vaporizing in the process. When civil authority collapsed in New Orleans the cops joined in the looting.

The numbers look pretty dismal. If in fact this is our last four years as a nation I won't be surprised...a lot of people won't be surprised.

But I should cheer up. Humankind has seen this before. It was called the Dark Ages. You know the Dark Ages just had a bad press. There really was light during the Dark Ages. The sun came up every day...just like always. There weren't any more street lights at night but there were torches. People would even occassionally band together...like to fight off the savages from Norway on their annual raid for slaves. Or even to bury the dead...at least when the smell got too offensive.

And hey...we're even gonna solve a problem or two... There will be no more old people....no more liberals....no more high prices because money won't mean squat. No more high gas prices...hell...no more cars!!! The desperate masses of our urban areas will kill each other off within days fighting for the last available food on the shelves... The suburbanites will die of boredom without television...hell...there won't even be electricity!

And after that?

Well...if you know how to grow things...or hunt things...in short if you are a productive soul living close to the land you might actually like the change. Of course the smell of death from all the millions dead in the cities will be disagreeable for awhile... but this too shall pass! And who needs cities anyway? There won't be any more trade and commerce...no more distribution economy...not even overpopulation. These same survivors of Barack Hussein Obama's presidency will likely only rejoice at the loss of the freedom everyone abused...the justice that only meant criminals went free....All those dead senators, congressmen and Clinton-appointed judges sure won't be missed either.

Hmmmm....

Hussein's fans needn't send the hate mail....I'm suddenly for him!

YES WE CAN!

You won't want to go through the Dark Ages without it!!

Always Look on the Bright Side of Life
Monty Python

Some things in life are bad,
They can really make you mad,
Other things just make you swear and curse,
When you’re chewing life’s gristle,
Don’t grumble,
Give a whistle
And this’ll help things turn out for the best.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the light side of life.
[whistle]

If life seems jolly rotten,
There’s something you’ve forgotten,
And that’s to laugh and smile and dance and sing.
When you’re feeling in the dumps,
Don’t be silly chumps.
Just purse your lips and whistle.
That’s the thing.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
[whistle]
Always look on the right side of life,
[whistle]

For life is quite absurd
And death’s the final word.
You must always face the curtain with a bow.
Forget about your sin.
Give the audience a grin.
Enjoy it. It’s your last chance, anyhow.
So,...

Always look on the bright side of death,
[whistle]
Just before you draw your terminal breath.
[whistle]

Life’s a piece of shit,
When you look at it.
Life’s a laugh and death’s a joke it’s true.
You’ll see it’s all a show.
Keep ‘em laughing as you go.
Just remember that the last laugh is on you.
And...

Always look on the bright side of life.
Always look on the right side of life.
[whistle]

Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]
Always look on the bright side of life!
[whistle]

Repeat to fade...

Every generation has had some kind of crap to put up with. We’vr had lousy presidents before and we’re still here.

Thats one way to look at it-

We used to have 3 stupid people running for president, now there are only 2, so the trend is getting better.

True, but I don't believe we've ever had the culmination of a lousy president, a lousy Congress, and such a lousy USSC court before.

Things aren't looking that great, and aren't likely to get better for a long time, if at all.
