The state has quietly ordered male-only juvenile detention centers to keep bras and panties in stock for transgendered delinquents - angering many jail staffers. Each facility must stock a dozen bra and panties of each size in case it is requested, employees said and agency officials confirmed. Girls' centers also must stock men's underwear.
Two longtime employees of the agency ripped the policy, saying they fear it promotes an alternative lifestyle in order to accommodate a miniscule population. "People are appalled," one employee said. "The vast majority of kids in here don't fit the category and want nothing to do with this." The second employee said it would have made more sense to phase the policy in rather than enact it all at once. "I'm dealing with predominantly inner-city kids from gang neighborhoods; there's a lot of other battles and issues I need to deal with," he said.
The state Office of Children and Family Services order is part of a policy quietly enacted in response to a lawsuit. In addition to keeping "gender neutral undergarments" in stock, facility staff must call transgendered youths by their chosen, rather than their legal, names. Those boys who believe they are girls also must be called "she" by those at the facilities, while girls who believe they are boys must be called "he" under the policy. Transgendered kids in the system can shower privately, shave body parts, use makeup and grow their hair long.
Some can request to be transferred to a facility in upstate Red Hook that has housed a number of transgendered kids, officials said. A male who believes he is a female can also request transfer to a girl's juvenile center and vice versa. The request would be heard by a committee. To date, there has just been one such request, but it didn't go through because the youth was sent to an adult jail. "The policy is all about tolerance and respect," said spokesman Edward Borges. The state runs 30 juvenile jails with a total of 1,212 kids. The number of transgendered is about 20.

Heard today that California is in a quandry as ‘they’ have determined that incarcerated people will be eligible to marry under the gay marriage ruling. The quandry being how to best handle the situation. The report also mentioned 72 hr conjugal visits also allowed...didn’t say whether all at one time or not.
Course as long as the taxpayers keep footing the bill, the idiots in charge will keep up the foolishness.
It’s all about catering to perversion and “respecting” perversion.

I’m getting mental pictures here that I’m not at all comfortable with.
This whole article made me uncomfortable...
For instance, my father had a client some years ago who was arrested stealing women's clothes from public laundry mats. Knowing there's no cure for the underline fetishism that compelled the young man to want the clothes, he concentrated on teaching him to recognize that stealing them was unexceptionable. That showing restraint and buying them would help his life - and mentality - be less chaotic and more stable. To the best of my dads knowledge, that client never had trouble with the law again. Ironically, he had another client a couple years later in the same situation who failed miserably and continued to have trouble with the law.
It was a professional annoyance to dad that he had two court-ordered clients in the same situation, but one failed where the other seemed to succeed. "You can't help them all" was his frustrated take on it.
But I'm not making an excuse for the idea of allowing these people to indulge in makeup and, etc. It shouldn't be allowed as it defeats the purpose of jail. Personally, I don't think there should even be televisions in jail.
These folks are delusional and self destructive. You don't treat the illness by pandering to the delusion.
To induce the defect, one simply has to introduce a small amount of estrogen to a mammalian male fetus right before the testes develop the ability to produce androgens – principally testosterone (if I recall correctly, around the 4 month mark of the pregnancy). The estrogen blocks the androgens from reaching the brain.
Every mammalian ovum is a blueprint for a female and the brain stays female until it gets the chemical message from the testes that the fetal body is male. Since estrogen is a testosterone inhibiter, if it’s present in the male fetus it can block that chemical message. When that happens, a male is usually born with a stria terminalis that is female sized (about two thirds smaller than a males) and a hypothalamus lacking the extra neuron super-clusters present in men but not woman.
That’s why transsexual behavior in children occurs right around the time that children begin presenting inherently distinct male and female gender differences.
Interestly, these differences in the brain don’t occur in gay men: their stria terminalis and hypothalamus are the same as straight men. But the stria terminalis and hypothalamus in a transgender is all but indistinguishable from a woman’s.
I think your statement about being delusional can be applied to non-transgendered males who don’t present their female behavior until after sexual puberty. Personally, I think those people are fetishists, who’ve learned the behavior as a sex ritual, much the same way as people who are into water sports or bondage.
