I like to think of it the same way I think about my two senators, Chambliss and Isaakson....they started out agreeing to this amnesty sham and were very quickly reminded from whence their largesse comes.

Latinos don't vote on social issues/religion or they wouldn't vote mostly for Democrats. Like most new immigrants, they vote for the socialist who will dole out more goodies to them than the other guy.

I thought McCain's first priority was for border security!

Border security and amnesty are not quite the same issue. McCain hasn't flip-flopped. He never said he would stop pushing for amnesty. He stated that border security was important and it is. Where is the contradiction as these two issues apply to McCain?

He didn't promise to round up one single illegal alien and deport him/her, did he?

McCain sponsored the so-called Comprehensive Immigration Act with his buddy, Ted Kennedy, and he has never wavered from his wish to grant amnesty to illegals. At least he has been consistently wrong...

While I am not a McCain fan .. I did hear him say that he realizes the public wants the borders closed first.

I think our goal should be to make sure that happens .. and force Congress to put through the rest of the garbage in separate legislation .. which will have a harder time passing. We simply cannot allow the SENATE to have a 60-vote margin of democrats.

And .. as long as Bush is president .. there won’t be anything more done because the Bush-haters in Congress will do whatever it takes to keep Bush from having any success in that area.

I happen to agree with you on that.
Now let us get our facts straight on his July meeting with La Raza.

Unfortunately, McCain's position on Comprehensive Immigration Reform is pretty well summed up by the bill's name; McCain/Kennedy, and most of what I see now is his attempt to present a fish as if it is a bear.

It's a tough job, and it is clear that John believes in his stand on immigration and has trouble in his heart and mind “spinning” it.

Remember that scene in A Few Good Men where Cruise says “I know he wants to say it - he wants to stand up and scream it?”

I strongly feel that this is McCain's problem. He wants to stand up and say, “Hell yes, I'm for amnesty! That's my name on the damn bill you damn fools!” - but that would lose him the election.

McCain is the “Amnesty King.” He does more than just vote for amnesty. He authors and sponsors the legislation. He did in 2006 [S 2611] and got it passed in the Senate and then in 2007—McCain-Kennedy. This guy is a true believer. He is incapable of changing his position on this issue.

We are not only talking about legalizing the status [read amnesty] of 12 million illegals but also another 66 million LEGAL IMMIGRANTS whom they will sponsor thru chain migration, i.e., family reunification. And if the number is higher than 12 million, which it surely is, we are talking about 100 million new legal residents of this country over a 20 year period.

Amnesty will destroy this country with a stroke of a pen. Amnesty is forever.

McCain said he would round up the 2 million criminal illegals and deport them immediately. Yet, he says we can’t deport 12 million. There is a logical inconsistency in his statements.

Words... McCain is pretty good at pandering with words when he means to act in a completely different manner. I believe this is called lying when we peons do it.

He does because he can. With all the party loyals threatening a no vote for McCain is a vote for (Hillary)/Obama...they’re counting on shaming/fearmongering us into voting for McCain.

Too bad we can’t grassroots a write in vote across the nation for Hunter. He’s the only candidate who was absolutely clear about an effectively secured border and no form of any amnesty.
