 What residents were hoping they could avoid has happened in St. Charles. As feared, part of the Elm Point Levee has burst and water is rushing through right now at a rapid pace. Authorities say that the levee burst in two spots around 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday. One of those holes is reportedly the size of a football field. Several homes and businesses in the area are now flooded. Officials say that residents in that area voluntarily evacuated before the breach.

It’s getting pretty bad. Check out kmov.com or ksdk.com and you can see some aerial photos. All the levees are breaking. There were 3 levees out at Winfield, MO that broke and that’s about 15 minutes from my house. The new Whittaker development, New Town, off 370 is probably underwater or about to be.

I flew over Iowa this week and it looked like about 1/3 of the land had water on it. Not good.

Yepper, things ain't good there......BUT!!! At least the church where we were married is on the HIGH West side of #79. Old Monroe just south is getting bad too...everyones got their equipment and autos etc up on 'the hill'......Cousin says nothing like 93 though.....So that is good news......

My DIL is from Iowa. I was telling her a few days ago about an article where someone posted (not a Freeper) that the flooding was their fault because they “farm” the land. She asked...where do people think food comes from?

1. Why aren't Hollywood celebrities holding telethons asking for help in Iowa, Missouri, and other states affected ?
2. Why isn't the media asking tough questions about why the Federal Government hasn't solved the problem?
3 .Why isn't the Federal Government relocating people to free hotels and handing out pre-paid credit cards to everyone like it was candy?
4. When will Spike Lee say the Federal Government blew up the levees that failed in Des Moines, Iowa and now in St. Charles, MO ?
5. Where are Sean Penn and The Dixie Chicks speaking out on behalf of all the flooding victims?
6. Where are all the people declaring that George Bush hates white, rural people?
7. How come in a month you will likely never hear about the Iowa/Missouri flooding ever again?

Why arn't Whoraldo and pretty boy Shepard standing amongst the victims and crying on TV day and night bemoaning the tragedy that has affected so many thousands in the flooded areas?

Why are there no murders being reported?
Why are there no rapes?
Why is there little to no looting?
Why are there no gangsters shooting at helicopters trying to help?
Why are the victims (gasp) pulling together and helping each other to overcome and survive this disaster?

According to the co-ordinates you posted. I’m 8.6 miles from the Elm Point breach.
I haven’t heard any stories about authorities running around confiscating privately owned weapons either. Curious?
Shouldn’t the bozos in the government be checking out to see how the Dutch (Mainly those brilliant Frisians) have managed to keep out the North Sea for a couple thousand years-—most of the country is below seal level.
And all those people - a mob really - that went to Holland last year on the govt (our) dime-—did they actually do anything when they got back? any follow through at all?
