My guess is the five Justices from Hades will make this their swansong and send us into anarchy by ruling in favor of DC.
They never have to face crime and are sequestered not only in their lives but in their minds as well.

I’ll guess 5-4 against DC

1. The rumor about Scalia writing the majority is true.
2. FR doesn’t start crapping out like it did yesterday.

I dunno, didnt one of them (Souter?) get mugged while out jogging or biking or something? Ill guess 5-4 against DCI doesn't matter to a liberal. He wouldn't want to own a gun anyway. He'll just stay home and lock the doors and rely on the police to stop... Uh, solve the crime after he's dead.

The sad reality is that there are more and more Stalinists creating laws for us.
With each passing day, I see more irrational and absurd behavior than the day before.
Sixty years ago, who would have guessed that the SCOTUS would decide whether or not an American has the right to self-defense with a firearm.
Americans then would laugh the democrats right out of the room for proposing such Stalinist madness.
How very far we have fallen as a society.

If the decision doesn’t go the right way look for thousands of white, disgruntled gun-toting rednecks to take to the streets.
Riiiiight, like that’s going to happen. The expression, “Fart in a windstorm” comes to mind.

Sorry guys. After the Guantanamo and Child Rapist decisions, I don’t have much confidence that a small thing like the 2nd Amendment will carry much weight with this court. I think gun owners lose this one.
I’ll be pleased to be wrong on that.

Hopefully they will punt, and not write anything the grabbers can hang new laws on.
I don’t even HOPE for a good outcome here. Don’t trust any of them, not after some of the recent rulings like Kelo.
If they say anything specific it becomes a how-to manual for the grabbers. “Here’s the way you can take their guns...”
The old way is better. RKBA shall not be infringed. Shall not even be questioned, under PA law.
No sense pinging this thread, people have waited almost 70 years for this decision; we weren’t waiting near that long for Hillary’s concession and what did we get? Trampled in the crowd! Site went down and a historic thread was blighted in the bud. *sigh*
I’ll know how it went by the fireworks in this lovely valley in PA. Folks here love a good loud bang, even without cause.

I'll put $50 into the kitty, today. Will anybody match it?

But if it goes the other way, the march to Washington will be like no other. The rebellion may be from within D.C. rather than from without. The people who live in the city are sick and tired of being fodder for any illegally armed criminal. They want the right to protect their property and their lives just like the rest of us have the right to do.
Outsiders won't sway the council, but insiders who vote for them will. If SCOTUS upholds the gun ban, there should be marching in the streets and a message sent loud and clear to the council.

I agree with you; if this ruling goes the other way, the marches will be loud and large. There will be talk of impeaching the judges (there should already be that imho due to their support for child rapists and terrorists).
But I am worried given the recent decisions.

I’m uncharacteristically optimistic. I didn’t like the basic premise of suing to preserve and expand our gun rights. But here we are.
Here’s to hoping that Justice Thomas or Justice Scalia write the majority 6-3 opinion.
