More than a few readers have asked me what I think of this article from a publication called the Israel Insider, particularly a section which suggests a Hawaiian state official has doubts about the birth certificate posted on Daily Kos and Obamas StopTheSmears site:
Janice Okubo, Director of Communications of the State of Hawaii Department of Health, told Israel Insider: "At this time there are no circumstances in which the State of Hawaii Department of Health would issue a birth certification or certification of live birth only electronically." And, she added, "In the State of Hawaii all certified copies of certificates of live birth have the embossed seal and registrar signature on the back of the document."
I spoke to Ms. Okubo late Wednesday afternoon, and she said she had seen the version of Obamas certificate of live birth posted on the sites. While her office cannot verify the information on a form without the permission of the certificate holder (Obama), she said "the form is exactly the same" and it has "all the components of a birth certificate" record issued by the state. In other words, she sees no reason to think the version posted on Obama's web site and Daily Kos is not genuine.
The embossed seal in question is, she said, probably on the back of the document provided to Daily Kos, but not visible (as in another certificate posted on Israel Insider for contrast). She thinks the difference in visibility can be attributed to the pressure used when applying the seal.
I know I was one of the guys who wondered if there was something there when Obama initially refused to provide his birth certificate to PolitiFact. It seems many people continue to think that they will uncover something that will prove Obama was born in Kenya and is therefore ineligible for office of the presidency. As I wrote in the initial post, this scenario is rather unlikely, as it would require everyone in his family to lie about this in every interview and discussion with those outside the family since young Obama appeared on the scene. I would add this would require Obama to lie about his birthplace in every interview going back to Harvard Law.
There are, however, other documents in the past of the Democratic nominee that would be worth a close examination. For example, they may not even exist anymore a convenient destruction but Obamas office records from his service in the state legislature, particularly the correspondence, would be an interesting resource in learning more about his efforts in state government.
The Illinois State Archives told Judicial Watch that they never received any request from Senator Obama to archive any records in his possession. Similarly, in 2007, Obama said to Tim Russert that his records were not kept.

Let’s be gadflys....lets start a public petition.
BO’s BC is invalid.
Yes, something else concrete on this has to come out which forces them to expose Obama.
I agree, but the GOP is afraid to argue with Democrats on the issues.
No guts. Therefore, no glory.
Why would he be BHO II and not jr???

At least the National Review put it out there. Now that the case has been touched with a ten-foot-pole, others may touch it, too.
My take it's a phony!
You get it!!
He can lie, but that doesn’t mean the American people will understand.
And How thorough have the BO "Streetcleaners' been?"
While in office BO did not keep records? Had no archive system? This is heinous, damned heinous.
I'm not really sure about this guy's background in general. There doesn't seem to be a trail on him. Somebody his age ought to have that. Something about him doesn't add up. It's unsettling, but nobody seems to care, certainly not the MSM.
No, he wants to hide the fact that his birth name was SweetHome Al Obama.
obumpa
Why black out the serial number? Why not counter by posting the birth records and an original birth certificate? Why does the public have to beg the candidate to produce what is clearly a basic prerequisite to running for office?
I for one, am skeptical of Mr. Obama. I want the record uncovered and I want the legislative records produced.
...”as it would require everyone in his family to lie about this in every interview and discussion with those outside the family since young Obama appeared on the scene. I would add this would require Obama to lie about his birthplace in every interview going back to Harvard Law.....”
Yup..! There it is the October surprise....!!!!
The Clinton’s surely know the truth. If there’s anything to it, word will get out somehow. Unless they can make better use out of it quietly, kind of like FBI files.
It’s not just the embossed seal is it? Isn’t it the signature stamp? Like a notary. You have the indented seal, and then you have the signature (by stamp or whatever). There is neither. And why would a person seal and stamp the back of a legal document? That doesn’t make much sense to me. But I think I am in the minority in questioning this. I keep getting the feeling people want me to move on about it.
I’m coming to this party late too. But...who would normally check into this kind of stuff when you have a person running for public office?
What about when he originally ran in Chicago politics? Was he ever vetted there?
Did he just “pop” up on the scene? Out of nowhere? Surely there has to be some kind of school records, original drivers license, passport.
Where did his mother live when he was born? What address was listed?
Let me add to that by replying to my own post...
How handy that Hawaii became a state in 1959 and he was born 2 yrs later. Silly I know but I just don’t think this all adds up.
OK.
No, it's not OK.
Embossing raises parts of the the paper. Whatever is visible on one side is seen in reverse on the other.
The premise of not being able to see the seal on one side of the document is false.
