It wasn’t designed to make you stand up and cheer. The first half was flawless...very evocative and closer to 2001 then Toy Story. I can’t imagine most young kids will like it.

Sorry, I didn’t find the first half flawless. In fact, I thought it would never get off the ground. Probably just a matter of individual taste, but it wasn’t something I’d recommend.

The stuff on the ground was the best stuff in the film. The manipulation of space and objects in the frame was reminiscent of Jacques Tati.

It was still a yawn for me. I went to be entertained not to analyze “manipulation of space and objects”.

I was just about to post that if the film “Playtime” wasn’t art, I didn’t know what art was, but decided against it thinking no one would have heard of it. I love how freepers surprise me :)

I loved the movie. Some people go into these films just waiting to try and discern some political message that they can support or criticize.

Me? I just went into the movie hoping to see a fun film about a robot, and I got exactly that.

Art is about more than just entertainment.

Sorry, but Disney animation is not what I consider “art”. There is an art to it, but it’s not ART.

Cinema is an Artform.

Judging from your other posts, you've got some real wierd passive-agressive issues maybe you should look into.

Have you yet figured out that I was referring to the author of the article at the beginning?

When you post "wtf,"...what does that stand for?

Does it pass your test for child-appropriate that you claim to be a aelf-appointed appropriate-police on??

hey- they talk that way aat D.U.hmmie sites, not appropriate here (chidren present)

geez you really went to a lot of trouble after simply having it pointed out that it was rude to call someone names, rather than intelligently counter their opinion.

“What an idiot” is not a substitute for “This person is wrong because...”

A simple “You’re right, I’m sorry” would have sufficed

Are you sure you’re on the right web site? This is the kind of behavior you see over at D.U.
