Conservative black pastors nationwide are caught between irreconcilable opposites - congregations that overwhelmingly favor Sen. Barack Obama versus their personal doubts about the Illinois Democrat's politics, particularly on abortion. "It's a theological contradiction, from the Christian perspective, to be excited about Obama," said the Rev. Levon Yuille, pastor of the 100-member Bible Church in Ypsilanti, Mich. "Very few black pastors have problems supporting Obama because they are fixated on this race thing."

If Obama gets the presidency it will set blacks back at least 2 generations. He’ll make the peanut farmer look like a genius.
Hearing black self-described “conservatives” say that they disagree with almost all of Obama’s positions, but will still vote for him anyway has been one of the most disappointing things about this political year. Race uber alles. If they won’t walk the walk when faced with a choice between values and race, how can whites conservatives be expected to vote for black candidates?
I predict race releations will be much worse after this election no matter what happens, though perhaps more clarified.
A rant, I guess! Sorry. I get really upset that if a person supports Obama BECAUSE he is black (or at lest half-black) it is a wonderful, uplifting, progressive thing. But if a person rejects him BECAUSE he is black - that is RACISTS and is screamed from the highest rooftop!
A huge majority of the Afro-American community admit that the ONLY reason they support Obama is BECAUSE he is BLACK!!!!! Why won't the MSM call it like it is! They are RACISTS!!!!!

I wonder which Bible they use at Revrum Wrong’s “church.” Black liberation theology and christianity have nothing in common, thus their source document (Bible) should be entirely different. Does anyone know what the UCC uses as a Bible?
See, when you do not have a candidate who is CLEARLY different from the other guy across the board, it blurs the lines and allows people to vote on inconsequential stuff, like race, sex, last name, whatever.

All pastors, priests, and rabbis should be wary of the Democratic party, it’s full of baby butchers. Republicans and the MSM never challenge Democrats on terminating normal, healthy pregnancies. ‘Safe, legal rare’ is deady slogan, which could be countered with, ‘Restrict, Confine, SAVE’.
So should all those that inhale oxygen.

From first being considered property to not being a whole person in the voting booth to not being allowed full access to public restrooms or public transportation or even military service, the Black American experience is not like any other American's. It's not been a matter of a glass ceiling, but rather the open, blatant, officially sanctioned "Whites only" "No Negroes Allowed" discrimination that the 1960s finally ended.
So, while no black man or woman living today was a slave, almost all have known an America, either personally or through their parents, that did not consider them as being created equal. And, for many, no number of Oprahs or Robert Johnsons or any other successful black Americans are going to remove those experiences from memory.
Nor will a President Obama, but voting for him will be a step forward that few blacks thought they would ever take. It's just too bad that it is Obama instead of someone whose principles, values, beliefs and character would move us all forward, regardless of skin color.
President Obama will worsen the racial divide. He just may have what it takes to become president, but not what it takes to lead the country.
While I truly don't look at people in terms of race or ethnicity but solely in terms of character, after I heard the Rev. Wright clips and that Hussein Obama stayed in those pews for 20 years and had that demented racist ‘baptize’ his children, it made me start wondering if every black I passed was ‘one of them,’ meaning a race-centric Marxist who would do anything to take control of the country and turn whites into subjects.
Blacks who disagree with this black liberation theology need to speak out loud and clear so that we know we can all work together to strengthen this county and truly heal the wounds of racism.
Your comments are correct - with one exception. The “War on Poverty” forever connected the belief of victimization with compensation from the treasury. Thus, entitlement socialism was founded, which will always link blacks voting in the direction of victim compensation. In many ways, and $7.2 trillion later, blacks have devolved from their culture of the 1950’s. Until the connection between money and victimization is broken, blacks will gleefully remain on the plantation that feeds them.
But if a person said they were voting for McCain, the ‘white guy’, they would be considered vile. Which they would be vile in my opinion if that was their only consideration. But the same can be said for both sides.
Only because he is BLACK when he wants to be! Can 99% of Americans vote for a black man - a resounding YES! Can about half of Americans NOT vote for this black man - also YES! It has absolutely nothing to do with color. As the posts says, he has no principles, values, beliefs or character that will move this country forward.

You are absolutely correct. There are many Americans who remember sitting at the back of the bus, or treated as second class citizens. And the stories that have passed down to their children are still very real to them. Even if no one in my generation has ever experienced that, they have through the pain of their parents.
But Barack isn’t the answer for them personally. Other than to wash out perceptions. The reality will be much worse and I don’t think anyone understands that.
And none of them seem to understand Barack himself doesn’t come with those experiences either. Nor did his father. So if they are looking to him for sympathy, he can’t offer it. Sure he might have had some negative experiences in his lifetime, heck weren’t we all teased at some point for something? An d his wife is bitter enough for the both of them, but he did not experience the Civil Rights Movement. So how is he the one to correct the wrongs inflicted on black americans?
