If this is true then the libertarians have run smooth off the cliff.

Yeah, I use “tend toward” because of a handful of folks I know that call themselves libertarian, but I don’t think that they really know what it means.

I’m not surprised in the least. Why do you think I call them “liberaltarians”? Because they only think they’re conservative. When it comes down to brass tacks, they’ll vote for a socialist over even a moderate Republican.

I have said for years here, Libertarians are stupid. This proves it.

I don’t buy it. First its possible some liberals confuse themselves with libertarians and project what they want a libertarian to be rather than what they generally are and then tell the pollster they are libertarians. Who knows.

My BS meter just pegged out on this one. I don't know any libertarians that would support Obama.

"Obama's record on abortion is extreme. He opposed the ban on partial-birth abortion -- a practice a fellow Democrat, the late Daniel Patrick Moynihan, once called 'too close to infanticide.' Obama strongly criticized the Supreme Court decision upholding the partial-birth ban. In the Illinois state Senate, he opposed a bill similar to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act, which prevents the killing of infants mistakenly left alive by abortion. And now Obama has oddly claimed he would not want his daughters to be 'punished with a baby' because of a crisis pregnancy -- hardly a welcoming attitude toward new life."

Oh Lawd...a Ron Paul supporter. Should have known.

Of course I'm a Ron Paul supporter. I revere the Constitution the same way others revere the Bible. Ron Paul is the only candidate who defends the Constitution. If you want my vote, and don't like Ron Paul, give me another candidate who defends the Constituion.

Friend, Smoking pot does not change one’s politics or philosophy any more than drinking a single malt and smoking a cigar.

I personally find this poll hard to believe.

Libertarians would rather vote for Bob Barr or Ron Paul, but I’m guessing this poll (intentionally) left out these options.

Either this poll is flawed, or those who call themselves libertarians are very mistaken about what it is to be a libertarain....

...or we Libertarians are being our usual contrary selves, and are not being completely honest with the pollsters. That has happened before.

Not that we owe any damned thing to any of these Bozos.

If you want to see a real conservative and a real man look at Ronald Reagan.
I worked for the Reagan campaign in California. Ron Paul is more "Reagan" than McCain or any other Republican candidate.

"I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism"....Ronald Reagan

yea, i bet you’re right, that’s probably what happened. People, i guess, have different ideas on what it means to be socially and fiscally conservative.
