Police officers in Blue Mound didnt think much of cookies dropped off at their station Monday night until they got a whiff of them.
Overpowering the chocolate chips was the rich scent of marijuana.
It reeked of it, said Lt. Thomas Cane, a Blue Mound police spokesman. It wasnt hard to tell. Anyone thats been around marijuana before would have known.
Christian Phillips, 18, Watauga, who was serving court-appointed community service for Mothers Against Drunk Driving, dropped off the cookies in a wicker basket about 6:30 p.m. Monday, Lt. Cane said. A card from MADD was attached.

Holy mackerel. LSD too? I know a couple of people who lost their minds on LSD back in the 70s, and they are still non compos mentis today.

“The cookies which were not eaten by anyone in either station tested positive for marijuana. The batch from Lake Worth also tested positive for LSD.”
“Mr. Phillips now faces two felony charges of tampering with a consumer good, which is punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison.”
I’m thinking it’s probably in Mr. Phillips’ best interest to be incarcerated for as long as possible - this kid is a Darwin Award winner just waiting to happen.

I guarantee you, Christian Phillips thinks George Bush is really dumb.

I know a couple of people who lost their minds on LSD back in the 70s, and they are still non compos mentis today - That is interesting, I have a chemistry professor friend (actually he won the Nobel Prize) that was at Berkeley in the 70s and says no one was ever hurt by the drug itself (vs doing dumb things while on drugs).

Mr. Phillips now faces a felony charge of tampering with a consumer good and another felony charge of possession of a controlled substance. He remains in Lake Worth City Jail. His bond has not yet been set. This is where Mr. Phillips learns that life is not a Jay and Silent Bob movie.
