Thank you. I should have know that one. She was at an award ceremony a few years ago and sounded sharp and looked classy.

Cammie King is still alive as well. She played Rhett and Scarlett’s supremely irritating child who’s equestrian accident elicits cheers from contemporary audiences.

A few years ago I was at the Ontario Mills Mall (Ontario Ca). One of the Munchkins was there with his wife autographing his book and selling photo ops. It was clear they were on their own and traveling around to make retirement income.

“I hope that she enjoyed her long life!”

A life that included a home in Montecito couldn’t have been that bad....

Er, not quite as classy as we like to think. There was plenty of sex, drugs and perversion, it’s just that the studio heads kept a lid on it and most participants and the media were agreed it was more profitable for all to maintain the illusion.

That woman was light years ahead of the trash we have today in terms of sexiness and sensuality.

Here’s what IMDB says about her:

She has one son, Pablo, from her marriage to John Huston. In Huston’s autobiography, he writes of how he found the boy while making a movie in Mexico. After finding out the boy was homeless and an orphan, he adopted him and brought him back to the USA, unbeknownst to his wife. He met Evelyn at the airport and shocked her by introducing her to their new son. Evelyn, who ‘ was not going to spend her life raising other lives’, was not pleased. Most of her marriages ended because of her lack of desire to start a family. Pablo eventually married an Irish girl, had three children, and then deserted his family and became a used car dealer.

Personal Quotes:

I was always interested in the man of the moment - and there were so many such moments.

The big studios were each headed by a Big Daddy who reigned supreme.

I have often wondered what my life would have been like if I had needed a size thirty-eight bra instead of a modest thirty-four.

Here is what her contemporary, the beautiful Veronica Lake, said about Hollywood morality:

“Hollywood gives a young girl the aura of one giant, self-contained orgy farm, its inhabitants dedicated to crawling into every pair of pants they can find.”

With those lungs, it is understandable why it took so long.
