Actress Evelyn Keyes, who played Scarlett O'Hara's younger sister, Suellen, in "Gone With the Wind," has died at age 91.
Friend and producer Allan Glaser says Keyes died of cancer at her Montecito, Calif., home on July 4, but word was withheld until Friday because attorneys were waiting for the death certificate was filed.
Keyes' other notable roles were Robert Montgomery's lover in 1941's "Here Comes Mr. Jordan," the Ruby Keeler role as Al Jolson's wife in 1946's "The Jolson Story," and as Dick Powell's wife in 1949's "Mrs. Mike."
Is there ANYONE who wasn’t married to Artie Shaw—or anyone who wasn’t married to someone who was married to Artie Shaw?
Light a set of what?
I never knew they made a movie of Mrs Mike. I remember reading that as a preteen, I loved it, but I cried all the way through it. I don’t know if I can take the movie.
That heart pierced by a sword (dripping blood, no less) is definitely “Freudian”. imho.
Great picture.
We’ll always have Nairobi.
A movie set, of course.
The movie’s an old one, and I was recently able to get it on DVD. You’ll cry, but you’d love it if you cried for the book!! The scenery is flat out AMAZING!!! Don’t miss it if you can help it. You’ll cry, but it’ll be worth it!
RIP.
Some of the 'old stars' were too, folks just didn't hear about it, because the actors weren't inclined to make it public, and the studios kept that stuff out of the news because they figured the public wouldn't like it much.
Crane just died.
