As long as you’re sending some helicopters to get those of us who aren’t Liberals out, I’m fine with that.

I'm sure that the most corrupt elected officials, the most crooked judges and thuggish cops in the most putrescent state in America only do this in the interest of public safety.
It's sad to think of places named Trenton, Monmouth and Princeton, where so much blood was shed for liberty. New Jersey has become a chancre on America.

> I never thought that even in NJ, my air pistol would be considered a "deadly weapon." Read Evan Nappen's book Nappen II: New Jersey Gun, Knife & Weapon Law -- you would be amazed at what's a weapon and/or illegal in New Jersey. Some examples -- in New Jersey....
- Pellet air guns are defined as both "assault firearms" and as "sawed-off shotguns."
- Unlawful possession of an arrow or a bow is a crime of the fourth degree. Penalties are 18 months in state prison and max fine of $7500.
- N.J.S. 2C:39-3e specifically prohibits billies (yes, a stick of wood) and brass knuckles "without any explainable lawful purpose."
- Unlawful possession of handcuffs is a disorderly persons offense, carrying max penalties of 6 months in jail and a fine of $1000.
- Slingshots are illegal "without any explainable lawful purpose." The following is a quote from the book:
"Slingshots became banned in New Jersey when the law was adopted because some idiot didn't know the difference between a 'slungshot' and a slingshot. Originally the prohibition was to be for 'slungshots' which is something similar to a blackjack and primarily used for hitting people on the head. Unfortunately some legislative geek changed the 'U' to an 'I' and slingshot became a 'per se weapon.' "

"Here in Virginia, anything capable of discharging a projectile is considered a firearm, no matter what the actual method of propulsion is." I guess I better warn my daughter about the marshmallow gun, huh?
Look how evil this kid looks! /s

NJ is a toxic toilet. (would have used commode but am an alliteration aficionado)How about this headline: "Gamo Gun Gets Good Kid"

I try to stay on point.

Here in Virginia, anything capable of discharging a projectile is considered a firearm, no matter what the actual method of propulsion is. Okay, Ill have to go back and check, but I think some sort of a BARREL is required as well.

“If this is true, I will have broken the law several times. I never thought that even in NJ, my air pistol would be considered a “deadly weapon.”
I really despise the idiots who govern my state. I despise even more the majority of New Jersey voters who keep voting for Dems like its their religion, or for RINOs for that matter.”
Just another of the “Gotcha” laws. Laws that are usually not enforced, and which the “authorities” can act as if they are being oh soo merciful when they don't throw you in jail for several years for a nothing offense.
Citizens should never have to depend on the “mercy” of a justice system.
This is a law for a feudal society.

NJ is a toxic toilet. Yeah, is it? Care to come to my town and say that? You could leave your car unlocked for days and not have your wallet stolen from the front seat while you're on your high horse proclaiming how awful it is.
I lived in Ohio for 30 years...I thought NJ was one big metroplex. I was a clueless feeb. NW Jersey is mountains and south Jersey is pinelands. Inside 287 it's a NYC suburb, otherwise it's nothing like the rest of the state.

This is why it’s so alarming to see putatively pro-gunners pushing for “more enforcement of existing laws.”
Many of the existing laws are terrible. Enforcing them means putting good people in prison for garbage like having a BB gun in the car while keeping up with traffic. Or stopping to take a leak on the way home from the range with an unloaded handgun in the trunk. That can get you three years in the Free State.

Sure.
You can find isolated enclaves of civility in any state (even MA) but on balance, NJ is a hellhole.
And half the people filling up the counties in Northeastern PA trying to escape NJ hellholishness are bringing their problem spawn with them.
Nothing personal, but your state sucks. (And PA ain’t much better! ;)

It's personal. I grew up in Ohio. I lived there 28 years and did the best I could...and made less than 40k a year. I Moved to rural NJ, worked in manhatten for a few years and Now I make mad money. So yeah, it's real personal.

If it makes you feel better, Ohio sucks too.
Metzenbaum, Kucinich, power plants lined up along the border dumping crap into PA, the Ohio Turnpike, Cleveland...

Then its a good thing I don't live in NJ or I'd be put away for life. Nevermind all the guns in my house, I also have a nightstick and handcuffs (left over from my LE days) .... and a 950,000 volt stun gun.
And I wonder how they'd feel about blow guns with sharpened steel needles?
