what will the libs expect as a “balance” for Stern’s show?

Probably "Opie and Anthony" who usually espouse right-of-center viewpoints.

I agree as well. I listened to Howard constantly in the nineties. He was all over the map politically — didn’t stick to any one group. He IS extremely intelligent and despite his ridiculous shtick, has certainly been what one would call financially successful.

He will likely vote Dem again at some point but it’s clear he is annoyed with them right now. Yes, he is closer to Libertarian than anything else.

Some people are smart enough to become conservative by simply learning from the leftist oppression of others and the multitude of failures of modern liberalism.

Some people need to be personally hit with liberal lunacy to realize the truth.

"..We could use you to oconvert some of those blinded liberal listeners of yours .."

Duh! What do you think he is doing when he says he'll never vote for another 'RAT? Leave him alone and stop trying to impose your moral conscience on him.

"Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under live robber barons than under omnipotent moral busibodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good, will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." ~ C. S. Lewis

Yea. It finally hits him in the face! Dems are good until they stab you in the back (or the purse).

Take it like a man Howard. You’ve know for years what these people are all about. You embraced them for all those years, probably because they are so much like you.

Who ya gonna vote for now? McCain? I seriously doubt it.
Obama? Not if you’re a man of your word.

Nuff said.

Intellectually he's probably a lot closer to the libertarian and small government conservatives on FR than many here would care to admit.

I would have agreed with that until about 4 or 5 years ago. He even supported the Iraq war. Then he went full blown liberal. He turned against it, sucks up to Al Franken and Michael Moore. He's what I call a liberaltarian. He likes to think he's Libertarian, but he's really a liberal Democrat.

He supported Hitlery in the primaries.

But lately he's been complaining about how the Obamassiah wants to raise his taxes, that he pays 50% of what he earns in taxes and is pissed that Obama says he's not paying enough.

The FCC thing plus the taxes *might* make him support McCain, but I wouldn't hold my breath. He's vehemently pro-abort and the Hollywood Gay Mafia got to him back when he made his movie and he's pro-gay all the way.

He doesn't have as big of an audience as he had in the past, but it wouldn't hurt if he came out against the Obamassiah.

“” Sirius Satellite Radio host Howard Stern supports the merger of his network with XM Satelitte Radio and is fuming at Democratic opposition on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) panel.

After FCC commissioners announced they have reached a deal to approve the merger of Sirius (NASDAQ:SIRI) and XM (NASDAQ:XMSR), Stern ranted about Democrats’ ‘gangsterism’ and ‘communism’ and the obstacles to the merger.

Stern described a phone conversation he had with his agent, who he described as a “liberal Democrat kind of guy.”

“I go, ‘That’s it!’” Stern said. “[I] go, ‘You know what Don, I’ve voted Republican and I’ve voted Democrat. I have vowed I will never vote for a Democrat again. I don’t give a [expletive] – no matter who they are. I don’t care if God becomes a Democrat.’ I said, ‘I backed Hillary Clinton, I backed Al Gore, I backed John Kerry. I am done with them.’”

Stern took it a step even further and called Democrats on the FCC “communists” and referred to their tactics as “gangsterism.”

“The fact that these Democrats on the FCC are communists,” Stern said. “They’re for communism. They don’t want to see companies – this is gangsterism. I said, ‘This is crazy.’”

The FCC commission is a five-member panel made up of three Republicans and two Democrats. The Democrats include Jonathan Adelstein and Michael Copps. The Republicans include FCC Chairman Kevin Martin, Robert McDowell and Deborah Taylor Tate. Tate had been the swing vote on the proposed merger and on July 24 The Wall Street Journal reported she would vote in favor of the merger.””

Stern doesn’t know it, but he is a libertarian. He is politically confused.

Although you couldn’t tell during his interview with Michael Moore.
