Swedish clothing company Ellos has pulled two-piece bikinis designed for baby girls and apologized for the products after widespread protests.
The bikinis, which were designed for girls as young as 2 months old, were pulled from stores after children's and women's groups complained that the revealing swimwear contributed to the sexualization of the bodies of small children, Swedish news agency TT reported Thursday.
Ellos is a family company. We do not want anyone taking offense from our assortment, Ellos representative Per-Olf Gustafsson said. We have erred in this case and we will do our best to ensure that there is no repeat.
I see nothing wrong with that, but I guess I grew up in hawaii were many kids are running around naked at beaches at those ages.
Wonder if this has anything to do with the political correctness and islamization of Sweden...
Looks like the little girl and the grown up one are wearing the same size suit.
I'd like to see how men would react seeing their little boys wearing a tiny speedo....
why are we making our children such targets?......we say we love kids but our actions show that we think kids are just another commodity......sad..
I see nothing sexual in it whatsoever. What I see is innocence. A child that does not need any sexual education, sexual fear, or a robbing of his/her childhood because of Femnazism.
ugh that’s horrible
I'd like to see how men would react seeing their little boys wearing a tiny speedo....
I think people see what they are looking to see. One person can look at a cigar and see an object for smoking, while another person looks at it and sees ... well, you know.
Seriously, girls naturally want to emulate their mothers. The suit in question isn't immodest or in bad taste. If you don't like it, don't buy it, but you really shouldn't condemn others for not seeing something vulgar when it isn't there.
They lied. They thought they could get away with it. They didn’t expect the criticism.
How positively barbaric!
*ding* *ding* *ding*
I think we have a winnah!
“I wonder if it was a certain minority segment of the population that complained.....like burka wearers.”
- Veiled women are not uncommon in Sweden. However, I haven’t seen a single woman over here in Sweden wearing a burka.
They do exist, but few Muslims believe in the burka.
Oddly enough this photo:
came with an article about members of a certain religion bitching about being required to remove their veils to use a public swimming pool in...
wait for it...
a bit longer...
place your bets...
SWEDEN!
(They were awarded Kr20,000 each...)
