CALLER: Yeah, couldn't help -- and my buddy barely, who barely even knows who the hot governor of Michigan is, actually said something to me about it, too. Which I thought was surprising. It's interesting. I thought it was all interesting, to say the least.

RUSH: Your buddy who barely knows the "hot" governor of Michigan, did you say?

CALLER: Yeah, yeah, in some people's minds. Not mine.

RUSH: Yeah. Well, those things are always subjective.

Michigan Gov

The only person who thought she was hot was Bill HornDog Clinton

“Iron Man comes back and says basically the defense industry is evil and they’ll only make green power generators.”

Stark does not say the defense industry is evil, but he stops his own defense sales because his weapons got into the hands of terrorists (who almost killed him with a Stark product). He thought he had a better way (a more personal touch) with his battle armor. How the long term plays out in Stark Industries will be seen in later movies. I suspect Stark will be working on more directed technology to stop fighters who hide among the civilian population.

The military is portrayed in a very positive light in the movie. Their hands are tied by circumstances and civilian leadership (can anyone say Pakistan which is starting to look like Cambodia and Laos all over again).

Anyone who honestly thinks that mainline Hollywood would intentionally make a movie with a pro-Bush slant is just plain deluding themselves.

Really, I thought Iron Man was extremely pro-military. His company was the problem, not the military.

But the Dark Knight was a whole different level of intensity. Sure, an F22 dogfight is a rush, but the up-close, in your face threats and descent into insanity was something else. Very cool movie.

I enjoyed Iron Man, too, but it cannot compare to The Dark Knight in just plain delving into the study of morality.

Robert Downey Jr’s strange personal odyssey brought him to more conservative opinions about life. He has always been a fine actor and really wrestled with his weaknesses. It looks like he is the better man for it now.

I didn;t find Iron Man as anti-military. Stark never intended for his weaponry to be diverted for use by the bad guys, that was done under the table by Stane. When he found out, I think he realized the problem was so bad that he had to get out of the business.

Tony Stark is selfish and snarky, but he is noble in his own way. Not anti-armed forces at all.

I liked Iron Man better than Dark Night, which I found needlesly dark, nihilistic, and downright harrowing at times.

The only person who thinks that chick is hot would be someone with very few options in life and poor judgment. She is a pleasant looking average person, certainly not ugly but no good can come from us lowering the hot bar.

The Left probably thinks Obama is really the Dark Knight and Dick Cheney is the Joker.

Saw the movie today.

Very long

Very over-rated.

Wait for the DVD

Thanks for the advance notice about this.

Any more specific impressions/comments on it?
