The (Spiegel) article ("No. 44 has spoken")'s premise was that an Obama victory is a foregone conclusion: "Anyone who saw Barack Obama at Berlin's Siegessaule on Thursday could recognize that this man will become the 44th president of the United States."

Later that day, I read a report of a fund-raising letter from Obama on behalf of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, arguing that "We must have a deadlock-proof Democratic majority."

Yikes.

But then it occurred to me that one man's "deadlock-proof" Democratic majority is another's unchecked Democratic majority.

And McCain will then assert that if you don't like the Congress in which Senator Obama serves in the majority right now, you really should be alarmed about a President Obama rubber-stamping the deeds of a Democratic Congress next year. A President McCain, on the other hand, could check Congressional appetites - as well as work across the aisle with a Democratic Congress in a bipartisan spirit where appropriate.

"No. 44 has spoken"

When I read the title, I couldn't help thinking of steam engines. I guess that comes from hearing them go past our house in the middle of the night and growing up with a father who was a rail fan.

ENGINE NUMBER 44 [A Ballad of Barack Obama]

Clickity-clack, clickity-clack,
Who's that s-l-o-w-i-n-g on the track?
Got a media team
But NO head of steam.
Disdain for carbon holds him back.

Well, the trouble is, that not many conservatives like McCain, and feel that it is better not to vote for him, and clean out the Republican party; than it is to vote in a RINO.

I am also of the belief, that we need to be more afraid of voting in Obama, than voting for a RINO. A vote for anyone else, or staying home, will be dangerous for our nation. I really believe.

A friend told me he heard there was an event prior to BHO’s Germany speech where free beer was offered. Anyone else heard this?

Yes he does.

But he is much more conservative than Obama. At least sometimes McCain will go our way. Obama won’t.

...”Imagine ... BO as POTUS, House and Senate with a Dem majority. Unchecked. Unbalanced. Yikes!”...

The primary reason for all of us here, no matter our views of Mr. McCain, to get out to vote for him.

THE BIRTH CERTIFICATE. It is still a live issue and one about which a whole lot more noise needs to be made.

Three looks at the subject all come up with proof of fraud through DailyKOS and others.

Write your congressman, the president, department of justice...Obama has NOT proven that he is a U.S. citizen.

The items of evidence supporting a case of forgery and fraud are much more numerous than the points raised with Rather’s phony documents. Yet, where is the outcry? Come on, already!!!!

In 1992, I voted for Ross Perot, to punish and purge the Republican Party. In so doing, I helped give the world the Clintons for life.

One of the biggest mistakes I ever made.

People have no idea how afraid they should be. The country as we know it will cease to exist. The radical left will have complete, unchecked, absolute power.

History tells us how horrific this scenario will be. Which is why the radical left made damn sure we stopped teaching history years ago.

You didn’t give us the Clintons for life. They’re been relegated to history’s dustbin by something far, far worse.

Obama is the most sinister figure American politics has ever seen.

I voted for Carter.

That’s hardly enough; what will work in the long run is to socially and economically isolate the people who support the Democrat party. You’re in a war for your economic survival. If you don’t start fighting back you and yours will lose it.

We’ll soon start hearing more from McCain about the deficiencies of today’s surge-opposing, drilling-blocking, earmark-loving Congress.

Umm, no we won't Billy...McVain is intent on blaming all our woes on Wall Street and free enterprise. He's not going to pick on his allies in Congress. We call that deflection.

“Imagine ... BO as POTUS, House and Senate with a Dem majority. Unchecked. Unbalanced. Yikes!”

And imagine the leftist activist judges, with whom they will pack the courts, including the SCOTUS.

The socialist, totalitarian takeover of the US will be complete.

Anyone who thinks that conservatives will have a chance to “rise again” is completely detached from reality.

Americans are not so easily fooled or fueled either these days.

Yes they are...If the people have not mde up their mind yet on who to vote for, than that is what will decide the outcome...The supposed middle grounders, or undecided are absolutely useless in my book...

Most are too distracted by nonsense in the media to go out and really fine the truth, much less look beyond the blither on the TV these days...Too much American Idol, and Survivor watchign mind-numbed robots who can’t think beyond their next happy meal from McDonalds...

“Don’t Taze me bro.!” is about to become the cliche of the Dem convention.

Exactly...
