RICHMOND, Va. - U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor of Virginia has been asked for "personal documents" by John McCain's campaign, a Republican knowledgeable with the discussions said Saturday.
Cantor, 45, the chief deputy minority whip in the House, has been mentioned among several Republicans as a possible running mate for McCain, the presumptive GOP presidential nominee.
The Republican familiar with the conversations between Cantor and the McCain campaign said Cantor has been asked to turn over documents, but did not know specifically what records were sought.

You must be a guy...the 1st photo is “hott” even without my bifocals, this guy would definitely get the female vote.

HIs zero name recognition is a bonus. McCain needs fresh. Too many hate Romney's Mormonism, though he'd be the guy I'd want on my team. Ridge is boring...and he's synonomous with the ridiculous color code alert levels of Homeland Security.
Cantor's a go getter.

Well- if for no OTHER reason (though he’s got a good voting record) I like him because YESTERDAY:
...
Around 12:30 p.m., the bright TV lights in the chamber were turned off, as Chief Deputy Minority Whip Eric Cantor, R-Va., was speaking.
Cantor didnt miss a beat, declaring, Turn off the lights, turn off the mikes, kick out the press because they [the Democrats]dont want to deal with this important issue.

Could be a trial balloon trick...or to stump the Dems and force them into making a counter choice. No other potential Veep has admitted to submitting docs to be vetted--unless they are just keeping quiet.
I heard Bill Kristol tell The Panel that McCain wants Ridge or Jindal and his campaign wants Mitt or Pawlenty. I just hope McCain doesn't get over confident with his good polling and Barry's bumbling and pick someone that will make us all scream. I said extra prayers at Mass tonight.

Totally agree about Ridge...a real dud and everyone would scream Bush/McCain, Bush/McCain.

I hope McCain is checking out lots of folks. This way he’ll have lots of names, not only for VP candidates, but for Cabinet positions, etc.

I'd rather go Mitt or Jindal then Ridge and I don't know enough about Pawlenty to have an opinion about that one.

ITA! We all should be saying extra prayers for that!

“Wow.
In the most shallow of ways.”
Look at the shallows in a more analytical manner...if his good looks and conservative background can assist in getting McCain elected and Obama not elected by pulling in the female voter then this guy has serious potential.

Oh, I’m prepared. I’ve been arguing with Romney’s sycophants for quite some time. They know that they’re bringing a knife to a gunfight when they try and throw down with me. Trying to defend Romney from the truth is a hopeless chore that only someone who is paid for their time or has something else to gain would bother with.
nmh, from my memory, however, isn’t one of the hardcore Romney apologists. It surprises me to see the ‘Mormon hate’ canard right out of the box from nmh.

Why on EARTH would a conservative vote for THAT if they had another ballot alternative to the right or solid right? No vice president's of McCain is going to be given any significant power. Organizationally speaking, this would all reek of Trojan Horse-ism for the future of Conservatism in this country.

In my most humble opinion....some teenie-tiny GOP kiss-a$$ keeps pushing this no name state rep. .....whoever is doing this, needs to take a reality pill.
To: AmericanInTokyo
if they had another ballot alternative ..and there is the rub. Baldwin, Barr, McKinney, and all the other third party options this year are freaks, leftists, or suck worse than McCain. All the choices suck this year. Yea, it stinks, but that is reality. The reality I am facing now is simply to vote against Obama and do what I can to ensure he is not in office.

Too much gravitas and his/her words might go right over the voters heads... vested gravitas might be better.
