In the previous incident on Mar. 7, it was also a 19-year-old female from Kuqa county who attempted to blow up a passenger plane of China's Nanfang Airlines departing from Urumqi. She was subdued by flight crews.
Terrorism experts explained, "Uyghur's use of women is similar to Chechen's use of Black Widows."
Chechen Black Widows were wives, daughters or sisters of (Chechen) fighters killed during battles with Russians, who gain notoriety by wearing black funeral garbs, swearing vengeance, and mounting terrorism attacks.
