WASHINGTON (AP) --
The man whose lawsuit overturned Washington's handgun ban has successfully registered his revolver, ending a more than 30-year wait to keep the weapon in his home.
Dick Heller walked out of D.C. police headquarters Monday, clutching a yellow firearms registration certificate stamped "approved." He gave the thumbs-up sign, grinned and said, "Victory!"
Heller was among the first people to seek a gun permit under new rules adopted after the Supreme Court struck down the city's 32-year-old handgun ban in June. Heller was the plaintiff in that case.

My Mrs would think exactly the same way except I would approach it differently.
“Honey, I have got a whole pile of .40 caliber brass. What brand of handgun would you like in a .40 caliber? The Springfield Armory XD-40 is one that you would just love to have, I’m sure.”
Then there would be the usual, “Do you have any pictures? Do you know anyone who has one, I’d like to shoot it before I buy one.”
All of which I would have preplanned and been well prepared for. Of course I would also have gotten the cash for our celebration dinner knowing full well that I would be the one to ‘break-in’ Momma’s new toy. Bullets, primers and powder would also have already been checked off on the ‘to do/done’ list.
"Honey, you know I don't like auto-loaders. Now if you find a nice revolver in .40, let me know. And remember, it's got to be a nice, pretty stainless steel one!"
Me: "Curses! Foiled again!"

My dad said there’s no reason for people to own machine guns. I wanted to have an argument right then and there with him about, but it would have gotten out of hand very quickly, and touched upon much more than the machine gun ban.
So I held my tongue.
"Honey, you know I don't like auto-loaders. Now if you find a nice revolver in .40, let me know. And remember, it's got to be a nice, pretty stainless steel one!"
I hear tell S&W's making the 610 again. 10mm/.40S&M moonclip goodness.
Saw this on your FR Homepage:
and an Ishapore 2A (in 7.62x51!).
I own one of those, too. Great little rifle. Wish I'd bought half a dozen when Navy Arms had 'em for $125.00 a copy.
L
.50 Beowulf upper for an AR-15.
***I keep trying to convince Mrs. L that it’s sufficient reason for me to purchase something to launch that particular caliber projectile.
So far, she’s not buying it...***
So then you buy it. :)
Nice. How's the recoil compared to the .223s?
I think I’ll stick with the .223s.
I agree that recoil really, really sucks. Maybe Heller hates recoil too, and that’s why he went with the little .22 revolver....
;-)
From their website:
“Q: What is the recoil of the .50 Beowulf compared to?
Beowulf recoil can best be described as similar to a light 12 gauge load or a 20 gauge.”
I might just have to take a .357 and bore it out a bit. You know, maybe up to .40. ;`)
You ain't been married long enough...Take it from an old ball and chain (30 yrs) and try this approach...
"Honey, you know how much I love you...If you let me have that new Springfield XD-40 that I've always dreamed of, I'll buy you that brand new Cherry Red V6 Camry Sport that you've always wanted!"
Worked for me!!! :)

I wouldn't call it a "lttle" rifle. Another one I don't shoot near enough.
No idea what mine cost. It was a "prize of war" for de-hosing my dealer's computer, something I did with fair regularity. (Rest well, Gordy.)
Then you got a real deal. Hang on to it. Those Enfields have one of the smoothest bolt actions ever.
L
Krags and Enfields, gotta love’em.
Yes they are. Those Spanish 1916 Mauser Carbines are nice too. Have one in 308 Win. CETME. On another note that little pump rifle in 357 mag. that IMI made back in the early 90’s was interesting too. Shoulda grabbed one.
“Actually, it is a victory. One battle has been won, but the war is just beginning.”
Exactly, Take their “real estate” and keep advancing on their position. That’s how the Left does it and it works. These things take time to work through the system.
