My name is April Popaditch, wife of Gysgt Nick Popaditch (ret) AKA Cee-gar Marine to FreeRepublic. This web site was such a source of strength to my family and I when my husband was wounded in Fallujah, Iraq April 2004. The beauty of the words and prayers that we read on a daily basis from all of you, will stay in our hearts forever. Military life is a sacrifice but one you never regret. Support from people you've never met, is life affirming and gives us the strength to carry on our new missions in life.
I hear on the news programs people asking, where are all the good military stories? I am proud to say that Nick and I have one to share. Our Generals, Congressmen and people who have never known anyone in uniform have embraced "Once A Marine". I am not too savy on how to cut and paste the book's site into this post, but I here is the website www.onceamarine.com. I hope you get a chance to read it, Nick felt strange at first doing a book until he realized that he was telling a story about more than just himself. We have been in a world with Heroes all around us, in and out uniform. I hope this book will make you all proud. Thank you again for all your support!
Best wishes to the both you.

Semper fidelis!
Whoops, I suck. Thanks for that!
For your ping lists.
Wow, what a beautiful website, April! Congratulations to you and Nick for your triumphs; you and Nick have both been in my prayers of late...
Thank you so much for helping all of our men and women in uniform, and for continuing to inspire our wounded warriors! Courage doesn’t belong only on the battlefield - it lives in the everyday triumphs of the heart.
Awe-inspiring. The 1.24 minute videp left me in tears thinking how much pain the men were experiencing.
Can’t see through the tears. That’s “video” vice “videp”.
Thank you...for your service, and that of your wife too. You are both HEROS in my eyes.
I have reserved a copy of this book and am looking forward
to reading it. I am in awe of men and woman who give up so much of their lives,
and in some cases their very lives, to ensure our freedom. And I include spouses and family when I say that because they also serve.
Thank you both for your service and for telling us about
the book. May God bless you.
I’ll have to get a copy for my dad, an old school, Korean War Marine. Of course, I may have to read it first.
I live in San Diego and have read articles in the paper on Nick and his switch over to being a student at San Diego St. University.
All good wishes to you both and so appericate his service.
My dad was with the 1st Marine Div. in Korean War.
I have relatives currently in the 1st Marine Div. who have done tours in Iraq.
Thank you and bless you both for your service and sacrifice for our country!
Truly amazing! Where do we find such fine people to serve our country? May we strive to be worthy of such sacrifices!
Thank you!
Thank you. I will check it out!
