Presumptive Republican presidential nominee John McCain may announce his choice for a running mate earlier than expected, sources told FOX News on Monday.
[snip]
Several names have come up repeatedly as McCains possible running mate, including former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty, former Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Ridge and, perhaps, Democrat-turned-independent Joe Lieberman of Connecticut. Also named is Gen. David Petraeus, the incoming head of Central Command.

Opinions on Gen. Petraeus as a VP pick?
I’m not sure how wise it is to pick your VP choice during the opposition’s convention, or even the day after.
He may be too smart to enter politics. The Democrats are more bloodthirsty that any Muslim Terrorist.
No on Petraeus. Leave him where he is, winning a war and saving lives. McCain doesn’t need a soldier to buck up his already strong military and nat’l security credentials.
MY sources say McCain may NOT announce before Friday!
These names are in stark contrast to the sorry-ass losers on NObomba’s list.
Heh, they’re thinking of announcing it on the day of the messiah’s acceptance speech.
About the general - he’s fine AFAIC, but most think it’ll be Mittens - the ticket is already heavy on the military side.
Gen. Petraeus isn’t as pretty as Sarah Palin. How’s that for an opinion?
Since Obama picked Biden, the only way now that McCain will lose the election is:
1)McCain picks Pro-Abortion VP
2)He brings up Amnesty talk
3)Health reasons.
Thats it. It's in the bag for him right now.
I threw out the General’s name into the mix. Just want to know about his political stances.
Liberals like Slick Willard are totally unacceptable to the Conservative base, period.
And, then again, he may not.
how ‘bout wednesday before the
presumptive democrat candidate is elevated?
I’d keep Petraeus in the wings to be Sec. Def.
That’s what MY sources say, too. RNC delegate?
If so, then you know anything pro-choice won’t get through - if that’s the plan on the Left Coast, I think delegates from, say, Texas, will go along with us.
I don’t think any of us know enough about his politics to say whether we would support him for VP or not....and that is the way it should be when looking at a General officer in our military.
We only know two things. 1. He is a great general and 2. He is a man of great integrity (which is a hint that he is not a dhimmitcrat)
Friday would be an excellent day. Kill as much of the Obama convention bounce as possible. Perfect timing.
“No on Petraeus. Leave him where he is, winning a war and saving lives.”
Abso-friggin’-lootly!!!!!!!!!
Picking Hillary might have improved Obama’s chances of winning the election, but he let his desire to be alive on Jan. 20, 2013, get in the way of pure political calculation.
