We finally got a glimpse last night of Michelle Obama, The Actress, and exactly how far she will go to pretend to be something she’s not in order to get into the White House.
I mused yesterday that Obama’s speech could in no way eclipse the rank absurdity of Teresa Heinz-Kerry’s Ode to Herself four years ago. But I was wrong. In her widely panned speech, at least Mrs. Kerry respected everyone enough to be honest with us about herself.
Michelle Obama, on the other hand, simply was not. Her comments last night in no way, in any small part, reflected her repeated speeches over the past 18 months. It in no way gave us even a tiny glimpse into the world we know she and her husband live in–one of grievance, anger, entitlement, and general whiny unhappiness. Whether it be through her own now consistently famous complaints, or the people they have chosen to surround themselves with– America-haters, in one instance, a domestic terrorist with a commitment to kill Americans and topple the government. The Obamas’ own words and their associations belie the “Donna Reed” image MIchelle Obama tried so hard to convey last night.
Americans are very open-minded people. We like the underdog, those who come up–we like to hold up the unexpected. But what we dislike with as much passion is being lied to. Differences of opinion are one thing, being lied to is quite another. Michelle Obama’s contempt for the “mean” American people is apparently so complete she now has no problem smiling as she spins her pretend story of patriotism and gentle, optimistic love for family and country.
She did make one mistake–she must have left the pillbox hat back in her suite.

I focused on the repeated claims Michelle “gave up the big firm to give back to the community”. They never said what she did.
Correct me if I am wrong but I believe she only is on a leave of absence from the law firm AND she is paid over $300,000 a year as some kind of “diversity” supervisor at a hospital, but she obviously spends all her time campaigning.
If I missed something, correct me in fairness.
I remember her “Mrs. Cleaver” routine on “The View”. Lick spittle followers will eat it up but not many others.
The libs in office were swooning over her speech today.
Pity none of them seem to realize that Michelle will happily take their all their money in taxes, before eventually depriving them of both their jobs and their careers.
If these clowns win, their bliss will feel different from behind the BK counter in a few years.

I don’t think she works for a law firm....I think she works in hospital “administration”.....community service mgmt for the hospital, maybe???? but, yeah, she makes $300K

To sit there and celebrate hypocrisy because you want to believe it is something else, is just plain sad. Welcome democrats 2008.
The body and eve movements were obviously choreographed and rehearsed time and again. Sorry - she still looks like Aunt Ester on Sanford and Son, except that LaWanda Page was funny and knew how to act. This thing is dangerous.
I didn’t watch, so I can’t judge the effect. The thing is, we know what kind of person she is, but the average viewer will probably take her at face value. They may not be aware of her earlier comments, or may have forgotten about them.
She was a partner at a major law firm where she supervised Obama. She is on a leave of absence meaning she can return to the law firm. She gets paid over 300k for doing not much for a hospital while she campaigns. How can they say she gave up a big firm to help the community? It’s totally bogus.
She left the law firm like 15 years ago. She is not on a leave of absence from the law firm.
I think she left the law firm and went to work for the hospital....is all I’m saying....she’s a poser....that’s for sure....

Michelle Obama’s speech last night reminded me of those long-winded holiday letters I get every year around Christmas. The author (usually the wife/mother) sets out her family and its activities in glowing terms. All the children are exceptional scholar-athletes! The husband has leapt up 10 rungs on the corporate ladder in one year! The wife is sooooo busy keeping up with her highpowered job; club meetings; and ferrying the oh-so-popular younger kids all over creation.
Mostly these letters are complete fiction. The oldest son has a drug problem and can’t hold a job. The oldest daughter has had her third abortion while in college. The younger ones are total brats that can only be gotten rid of at soccer practice or dance lessons.
The couple is on the brink of divorce, etc. etc.
What MO gave us last night was a complete fictional account of her life before, after, and with her “Community Organizer” husband. A half-hour and twenty-pages long Holiday Letter.
