Cardinal Egan Corrects Speaker Nancy Pelosi
Catholic Online ^ | 8/27/08

Representative Nancy Pelosi has been a lightning rod for the ire of conservatives for some time, but now she has drawn fire of a different kind. Within the last 24 hours, the archbishops of Denver, New York, Philadelphia and Washington D.C., along with Bishop William Lori have all publicly upbraided the Speaker of the House for her erroneous comments on the Church’s abortion teaching...

Not only was Cardinal Egan shocked, but he went on to say that, “What the Speaker had to say about theologians and their positions regarding abortion was not only misinformed; it was also, and especially, utterly incredible in this day and age.”

“Human life must be respected and protected absolutely from the moment of conception…Since the first century the Church has affirmed the moral evil of every procured abortion. This teaching has not changed and remains unchangeable. Direct abortion, that is to say, abortion willed either as an end or a means, is gravely contrary to the moral law.”

The list grows....

I am liking this very much. Now the pressure needs to be put on those clerics who are still allowing her to receive the Eucharist! (Of course we should continue to pray for her as well....)

I simply cannot understand why Congress’ approval rating is 9%, what with this amazing leadership from Pelosi.

To which Nancy responded: Many practicing Catholics dispute this. The woman is nuts.

“The head of the Catholic Church in New York closed his statement by saying that anyone who defends abortion is not fit to be a leader in a civilized democracy.”

This is how out of touch the libs really are, I heard Barbara Boxer say on Fox today that John McCain is a radical because he is pro life. So I guess Jesus is also a radical??? These people must have been out smoking weed when brains, common sense, and decency were handed out.

Notice, none of this criticism is coming from the San Francisco Arch Diocese. The power structure of the Catholic Church in San Francisco has been co-opted by Marxists and homosexuals and need a good cleaning.

The Cardinal opened up a can of Psalms 78:66 on Pelosi.

It certainly DOES need some purification.

(On a side note....hubby just told me that on Fox...he heard that the Bishop of Denver has asked Biden NOT to go to Communion.)

YES!!!!

It is amazing that in this day and age, when we can actually see that life begins at conception, that these people still deny it. Incredible.

Think back to last Saturday. Remember when all of the MSM were talking about how the selection of Biden would be a plus for getting the Catholic vote? I said to my wife that the selection of Biden was as dumb as if Obama had selected Sibelius. Both are pro-abortion, and in this election, the Catholic Church is not going to sit quietly by.

With Obama’s position on abortion, our Bishop had already published an article in the July Diocese newspaper and advised that more was to be written in the coming months on the matter of politicians and abortion. Obama is so thick-headed, he cannot see the writing on the wall.

Thank you, Barack. One more nail in the coffin.

Don't be fooled, they know exactly what they are saying and why they are saying it.

More and more Christians that actually follow the way are being titled "radical", "extremist".

Pretty soon, that will become the rule

Au contraire, kind of:

I am not catholic, but I have great respect for the religion.
I do not understand “how things work” within the church.
Is there a methodology by which this can be done?
Are there any historical references to any similar such “cleanings”?

I honestly think it has to do with their obsession with sex and NOT having to deal with the consequences. Plain ole’ sin and lack of self control. It is INDEED childish that they even look away from the SCIENTIFIC PROOF.
