MARLIN- A 13-year-old girl is back with her family after she was kidnapped Sunday evening by an illegal immigrant.
Marlin Police said Jesus Diaz-Lopez convinced the girl to get in his car before traveling to North Carolina Sunday evening.
The girl was found Monday around 8:30 p.m. in Berryville, Ark. with Diaz. He has been charged with sexual assault of a child and kidnapping. Police also say Diaz, who is between the ages of 18 and 26, could also be face charges of taking a minor across state lines.
Diaz is being held in the Carroll County Jail with a federal immigration hold. He will be tried in Falls County, Texas.
Police say Diaz began approaching the girl when she was 12. Her father had told him to stay away from her on at least one occasion.

This doesn't sound like a random thing. She obviously was acquainted with this guy.
Having raised two daughters to adulthood, more than once, I had a "conversation" with a young man I did not approve of who was not getting my daughters leave me alone message.
I can't repeat what I said to the young man, but it had to do with a 5 minute lead time, target acquisition, a filleted fish, a shovel and deep hole
Never did I ever have to have that "conversation" twice.

It seems that a lot of Mexicans are named Jesus. Is this a custom of the Spanish-speaking world, or only a Mexican custom? Whatever its source, is seems strange to me.
LOL! You sound just like my Dad; he had my old boyfriends absolutely TERRIFIED of him; they never laid a lip upon me (unless invited) and always had me home on time...and now I know why, LOL!
Only ONE passed muster when I was a dating teenager, but that didn’t work out, and Dad ADORES my Husband of the past 13 years...or he would’ve been history a long time ago, LOL!
I am so BLESSED to have had (still have) a Dad like that. Your daughters are very, very lucky, too!
Remind them of that if you need to; sometimes we women forget how good we have it, to have had a Dad that actually loved and cared for us in that way.
(I wish that blessing for EVERY Little Girl ever born, but sadly, that’s less and less the norm these days.) :(
Anyone want to guess in what state one might find a town or city named Marlin?
That was the FIRST requirement to pass to see my daughter.
After each time, she would ask my my opinion, 99 % of the time, I would tell her she could do better, aim higher.
The one she married was the only one I never said aim higher
