She helps with the base---but I don't think she helps McCain with the critical states of NV and CO the way Mitt would have.

If McCain, after all of this dragging it out and hype, makes a bombshell pick like Sarah Palin, well..........I will say right now that this is one of the best political and strategic plays in my entire lifetime.
The base will energize like a wildfire, the attention will eclipse Barack from the picture for quite some time, and women will pay attention.
Hillary supporters will have an excuse - if they'd want one. More importantly, moderate women voters - who decide elections - will be swayed. Even Lifetime TV ran a recent poll showing that a great deal of women will vote for a ticket JUST because a woman is on it. That's before they get a load of the successful, working mom with a family.
Oh my gosh - McCain is positively BRILLIANT if he actually makes this move. Barack will be yesterday's news for quite some time.

I will be dancing in the streets if it is Palin. Now I’m going to be so disappointed if she’s not the choice. The only other person who would make me as equally delirious would be Eric Cantor. Romney would be ok but only ok.
I doubt she is on that one. According to other sources, two lear jets have flown in from Alaska, one on Wed. went to McCain's ranch in Arizona and then to Middleton,Oh. yesterday, the other flew from Alaska to Middleton yesterday. Speculation that Sarah was on the one that went to Arizona and family was on the second one. Seems very telling that both of these jets flew out of Alaska and ended up in a town 30 mi sw of Dayton.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

If Palin is the VP choice...I am LOVING it. She has a ton of positives for good conservatives such as her pro-LIFE position, experience, common sense, etc., etc,. but when the DEMS attack her (and they will) it will be perceived as an attack on a WOMAN by the Hillary supporters. OHhhhh yeah...this could be a lot of fun...
She will help a little, because of swing women voters.
No, I don’t expect a LOT of Liberal women, but I do think a lot of Moderate women will come with Palin.
PA will now be a true battleground - as will NH and perhaps MI or MN.
She will help.....more than some want to realize. There are so many “squish” women voters who will vote for a ticket just because a woman is on it. I hear the stories every time I walk the pavement for women candidates.

Palin is a Gov. Obama is a community agitator
But more importantly, Obama is still friends with a black separatist, an unrepentant terrorist and is pro-infanticide. Not to mention — he’s the guy running for President vs. McCain.
Palin’s job is 3 fold
* fire up the base
* attract women and hillary voters
* cause the gaffe machine to erupt
slow down, it could be Lieberman
If Sarah is picked then in retrospect John McCain has been telegraphing his move-— Because McCain has been running advertisements to peel off the Hillary voters
Sarah is the best pick but I never thought it would be her
