Interesting thread on the Hillary Clinton forum entitled:
Action Items: 1) Donate to McCain to affirm Palin pick; 2) Stay vigilant for all sexism against Palin
It gets better:
Donate to John McCain and Sarah Palin, and let them know you love this pick and are thrilled that McCain showed Palin the respect that Democrats, and Barack Youre likable enough Obama in particular, NEVER showed Hillary Clinton:
https://secure.johnmccain.com/Contribute/ContributeE.aspx
Show McCain, Palin and America that you support women in the executive branch!
There are already stunning, sexist attacks against Palin all over the kook blogosphere. Daily Kos is comparing her with Dan Quayle, implying that she is mere eye candy, likely kind of dim-witted, and totally disrespecting her and all women.
Palin was both a mayor and a governor of the largest state in America. And these pigs are just dismissing her as though she were some joke in glasses.
The only party thats dissed a high-profile woman recently is the Democratic Party. What they did both in rigging the system so Hillary could not win the nomination and what Obama did in utterly disrespecting Hillary by not even vetting her for the VP was unconscionable. A disgrace.
Today, we have a ticket that respects women as equals and recognizing their full worth.
Please, donate to that ticket today and show America that you appreciate this historical McCain/Palin combination, and that you want to help bring America its first-ever female Vice President.
The glass ceiling is cracking. Lets shatter it!
Comments on the thread pretty much show what many of us suspected. Obama made a huge, freakin HUGE mistake not even vetting Hillary. If Hillary had been chosen as the VP he would have become the next President
but his arrogance and ego wouldnt let him.
And for that, I thank you Barack Obama:
I donated today, just a small $25. But Ill order somethings from his store as soon as Palin has been added. It wasnt as of 12:30 PM. Just waiting. It feels good to be excited about something worthwhile in this campaign again.
Dont forget to write a comment to McCain, letting him know how much you appreciate his choice. When I did, I also added that I was looking forward to buying McCain/Palin gear.
The John McCain site seems a bit swamped today!
I was going to leave the link, but I cannot get onto the webpage. When you do get on, look for the Contact Us button at the bottom and send him an email.
PS. I donated $100, just before the site got swamped.
JOHN MCCAIN HAS DEFENDED HILLARY ALL THE WAY
AND TODAY SARAH APPLAUDED GERALDENE
AND HILLARY GOOD GREAT
I DONT REMEMBER THE DNC DOING THAT SHAME ON THE DNC
Yes, we need to watch her back. Those sexist pigs in the MSM and the DNC will come after Palin.
the expected sexism is already started. The Obamalots are so stupid . cant they see that Palin is a bait ?. I think the McCain team expected all of this . The more the MSM talk about experience , the worse their sexism the worse the democrats look and finally the less they focus on McCain
Yes, its just a small slice of the Hillary fans and I understand the hardcore feminists will shy away from Palin because of her abortion views but those who are not so hardcore, who wanted Hillary to win, and are insulted by the way she was treated may very well come over to the McCain/Palin ticket.
Loving this choice ....a very impressive Veep Candidate.
For some reason ‘A woman scorned...’ comes to mind.
You go girls!!! Sisters of America unite!!! ;o)
LOL, I am loving this. I thought this election was going to be a real snooze with Hillary out, but I have been proven wrong!
They are so ticked at Obama they want blood!
Who has ever seen this sort of excited, passionate reaction to the selection of a VP nominee? Who ever heard of it being common for the new VP nominee to be compared to and contrasted with the other partys Presidential nominee? Its almost as though Palin were the nominee for President, and not VP!
Perhaps not as bad as may be expected.
In April of this year, Sarah Palin gave birth to her fifth child, Trig, who was born premature with Down Syndrome. Recent statistics show that in the U.S., approximately 90% of Down Syndrome diagnoses end with the mother choosing abortion. Palin on her familys reaction to the diagnosis, in her own words:
We knew through early testing he would face special challenges, and we feel privileged that God would entrust us with this gift and allow us unspeakable joy as he entered our lives. We have faith that every baby is created for good purpose and has potential to make this world a better place. We are truly blessed. (April 18, 2008, Anchorage Daily News)

(Sorry, I know I've been posting this on multiple threads, but this is the only chance. Strike while the iron is hot!)
I thank Barack Obama (assisted by DBM) for knocking out Clinton Inc. I'd like to shake his hand, pat him on the back and buy him a beer.
Hooray Sarah Palin! Thanks John McCain.
18 million cracks in the highest glass ceiling from the impact of Hillary’s face.
“Who has ever seen this sort of excited, passionate reaction to the selection of a VP nominee?”
I think this is the first time.
Anybody who doesn’t understand why, just needs to watch this video.

Nice find.
My wife is a good conservative woman who has been decidedly lukewarm about John McCain. She was, however, ecstatic this morning about Mrs Palin.
I stayed for NINETY MINUTES!!!!!...from page one-nine!!
To give you an idea of at LEAST 95% of what I read, I "borrowed" a few "comments and pics" from some of the posts:
...and THIS:
...AND THIS!!!:
...and the comment underneath the above pic said (paraphrasing, but quoting as close as I can here);
"Sarah Palin visiting troops in GERMANY...you know the ones Obama didn't have time for...:
Do as EATB says: Give Flopping Aces a click for much much more on today's pick.
IMHO, it's well worth the visit!!!
lmao.. I can picture it lmao
I should have said “Perhaps not as many as expected.” Hey, I’m not running for public office so....[SPLAT!] Hey! What’s with the rotten tomatoes?! [SPLORP!] Oooooph....
I am just waiting for the MSM to invade my quiet little town of Wasilla, I remember many years ago sharing a beer with her at the local bar.
He could have done a lot worse ,, and apparently did to one or two talking heads,, but the majority will see in the weeks ahead that she is more than up to the task.
I’ll take Hockey Mom over Hair Plug Guy anyday. ;-)
I can see a scenario where the wheels really come flying off the Democrat coalition of the underloved, confused, and disaffected bound together by rage and led by a clique of highly energetic (and often brilliant) narcissistic lunatics. It’s going to be a very pleasant weekend.

OMG! Republican candidate chooses a woman!!! Take that Democrats, party of sexism!!! ROFLMAO!!
______________
All this B.S. that the Republicans are racist and sexist,
yet colin powell and condi rice were some of the biggest players in the rnc.
Now Sarah has been confirmed.
______________
What does that tell you about the DNC.. Hypocrits.
_____________
I LOVE McCain!!!! He pulled through for us. The Maverick does it again!!
_______________
Very good information.........Sarah Palin has 85% approval and successful in her state.
Great, its ironic........Obama from Hawaii, and we will get Alaska.........Super.
_______________
Leave it to the GOP to pick a woman for the ticket.
Obama snubbed the most viable and experienced woman who received 18 million votes, for another MALE.
_______________
I have a feeling, somewhere somehow, Hillary is snickering!
_______________
Thats exactly how I feel - the DNC has hoodwinked us for years about the GOP being racist/sexist... !!!
_______________
I am THRILLED if this is true.
_______________
It will make it easier for me to vote McCain (which I would have done anyway).
_______________
Now Im excited! Its not Hillary (shell be President in 12).... but its exciting none the less!
_______________
If this is true, this moves me from staying at home to voting McCain.
.
______________
I think McCain has just scored a huge number of HC supporters.
_____________
Its no mistake he chose a female - he is going to deeply tap the huge amount of support Hillary Clinton received.
_____________
It could potentially however set up a Clinton v. Palin battle in 2012. Wow, wouldnt that be CHANGE when its been MAN vs MAN for an eternity!
______________
McCain has picked PALIN!!! I am THRILLED! AS for the Dums whining that she doenst have experience running thingsSHE HAS FIVE KIDS!! TRUST ME! SHE KNOWS HOW TO RUN THINGS!
_______________
GOD BLESS MCCAIN/PALIN!!!
_______________
Do you all hear the sound of the running feet of all the women the Obama camp tossed aside? It is THUNDEROUS!!!!

This is a stain on the DNC.
I am excited. Talk about a finger in the eye back for that 3am text message b.s.

I suspect we shall be reading about a lot of wife beatings and killings once die hard demowit hubbies find out who their spouses plan on voting for.
Friends, if the Hillary supporters are donating $100 to McCain today, we’re going to have to donate $200 or even $500.
Because for the conservative movement this is a doubly good pick. It not only affirms the role of women in America but it also affirms the genuine inclusiveness of the conservative movement. And it highlights the fact that women in America are even MORE likely to be pro-life than men.
We must support this ticket.
Go to http://www.johnmccain.com/ right now and give as much as you can.
In the box labeled “referred by” write “Sarah Palin”.
maddie to mort: Get over yourself.
They will crawl into everyone’s lives and invent stories like “she spent a lot of time at local watering holes and became knows as a barfly to the townsmen with whom she shared time when her husband was out.”
They’ll also find one or two people that don’t like her and present them as “a large percentage” and feature them on all the shows.
This is why so many women don’t like Obama:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Juy9NwI8_i0
Does this sound like a man that respects women?
Obama was very condescending towards Hillary. It’s obvious that he doesn’t have a lot of respect for women.
Wanna know the best part of this choice: 2012 and 2016.
Mac may just have saved the RNC.
Brilliant pick and brilliant timing! Not a single soul is talking about Obama’s BIG speech last night! McCain stole all of his thunder with this. Brilliant!
You have a profound point there, she is definitely in the spotlight of everyone, even globally.
I think I may stay a bit low key, I really do not look forward to having people with earbuds and shades following me around up here, frigging weird seeing the town i live in on all the news, its like a spaceship landed here.
Great job! LOL!
Thanks for adding the comments from their Blog....
Just amazing....thanks for adding the Graphics.
Wait until Plugs gets condescending during the VP debate (and he will). Women will be POed all over America.
My favorite on their site, from early on, was Palin was a a “GAME-CHANGER”.
Operation Chaos is returning the favor. Sweet.

To give you an idea of at LEAST 95% of what I read, I "borrowed" a few "comments and pics" from some of the posts:
I haven't checked out the Hillary forum yet but I've been lurking over at DU all day today. Despite "Obamapalooza" last night, Palin is the only thing they are discussing. Predictably, they are outraged. McCain's pick of Palin stole all their thunder.
Perfect timing!
It's funny. They're over at DU bashing Palin for not being a stay-at-home mom and for her lack of executive experience. Only a few "Voices of Reason" are saying, "Maybe we should be a little concerned."
DU has been a wealth of entertainment today.
You are welcome, and thank YOU for all of your hard work posting of articles here on FR!!!
...and another BTTT !!
Thanks Ernest. The Empty Suit knew Hillary wouldn’t make a convincing running mate, would make him look even more like a sock puppet, and — more to the point — his campaign and supporters (like those at DailyKos, and DU) vilified her and her first black husband beyond any credible reconciliation. Obama-Clinton would have been like Stevenson-Kefauver.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estes_Kefauver#1952_election
In the 1952 presidential election... Although Kefauver would go on to win twelve of the fifteen primaries that were held that year, losing three to “favorite son” candidates, primaries were not, at that time, the main method of delegate selection for the national convention... received 3.1 million votes, while the eventual 1952 Democratic presidential nominee, Illinois governor Adlai Stevenson, received only 78,000 votes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Estes_Kefauver#1956_election
... Stevenson, however, was able to defeat Kefauver in the 1956 Oregon, Florida and California primaries and, overall, ended up winning more primary votes than Kefauver in 1956, before being re-nominated for president by the Democrats at the 1956 Democratic Party’s national convention... Stevenson went on to lose the election to Eisenhower once again, this time by an even bigger margin than in 1952.
...On August 8, 1963, Kefauver, a heavy smoker and drinker... suffered a massive heart attack on the floor of the Senate while attempting to place an antitrust amendment into a NASA appropriations bill that would have required that companies benefitting financially from the outcome of research subsidized by NASA reimburse NASA for the cost of the research.
You and me both, FRiend!
Uuh, yes.
That’s as good as it gets.
Never thought I’d see the day, but we may be allying with those “energetic (and often brilliant) narcissistic lunatics” don’t insult them, Politics really does produce strange bedfellows:
Republican Est+ Conservatives (pragmatic enough to see that Palin is a good choice+ Obama is 100% worse than McCain)+ a few independents + PUMAS= Victory to defeat BO!
You are stronger than I am. I rarely go to DU. When I do, I do it for health reasons. Going on DU and staying at least 30 minutes and not dying from a heart attack or stroke, means I don't really need a stress test and having my blood pressure and heart checked by a real doctor.
Down Syndrome is no longer the total disaster that it used to be and some of the people born with it are leading fairly reasonable lives these days. It appears to hinge mainly on diet.
Drive the environazis and peta creeps crazy....
Google "barbarians for Palin" for the pic....
FAMOUS LAST WORDS:
“I am confident I will get her votes if I’m the nominee. It’s not clear she would get the votes I got if she were the nominee.” — Barack Obama, February 1, 2008
CNBC re-aired a Maria Bartiromo interview with Sarah Palin earlier tonight that was taped well before there was any inkling of her being on the ticket. Sarah was awesome in her knowledge and ability to present her thoughts. She has more experience in the energy arena than the other 3 people on the tickets combined. McCain needs to defer to her on domestic energy issues.
I was so worried McCain would blow the pick that I never even considered that he could pick such an extraordinary running mate. As my son said, “the ‘exciting’ candidate choose the most boring running mate possible, and the ‘boring’ candidate chose the most exciting candidate possible.”
