They are not the accoutrements normally associated with an American vice-presidential candidate. First, there is the snarling grizzly bear skin draped over the sofa in her Anchorage office.
Then there is the large stuffed Alaskan king crab on the coffee table, a bizarre trophy that is one of her proudest possessions.
But former beauty queen Sarah Palin, who will become Americas first female vice-president if the Republicans win Novembers election, is hardly your typical politician.

Sarah doesnt really wear make-up. Shes much more at home with a gun than a mascara wand.
Enjoy
Because she can!
The bear is on her couch. :-)
“John McCain a frail 72-year-old” ?????
clearly the author is spinning the democrat rhetoric
or has not seen mccain, he isn’t frail
Geez. I’ve seen that picture before and thought that was one of her DemocRAT opponents. I guess I should have looked closer. It is a bear!
The author is a Brit; seems to be saying that under their Universal Health Care, any non-Royal would be lucky to make it to 72.
“First, there is the snarling grizzly bear skin draped over the sofa in her Anchorage office.”
Why do I have the feeling that Obama and Biden don’t worry her too much?!
STE=Q
Well, how about she take Mccain hunting since Republican VP’s have a track history of...oh wait I am not going to go there :p
great line of reasoning :)
Every summer McCain and his sons do a rim to rim crossing of the Grand Canyon on foot. Bet the reporter couldn’t make it if he tried.
I hear she bagged that one from a helicopter with an AK-47 while on a PETA polar bear expedition. /s
Re: The bear skin.
I told the weighted Companion Cube that she probably shot the bear herself.
His response?
She’s got big enough guns.
That’s m’boy...
you mean he doesn’t do this in a wheelchair?
I quit reading after they said John McCain was a frail 72 year old.
Besides the “frail” McCain claim, I chuckled at her father having “caught” the grizzly who formerly had that skin. I am not hunter, but even I suspect you want to shoot a grizzly not catch one. I suspect if you “caught” one the outcome would be somewhat unfavorable to you.
Check out the DU homepage. Front page news is that Palin’s son isn’t hers but her daughters.
Have they lost what little minds they had in the first place??

Here’s part of an interview i found on the net:
Did being younger and being a woman gives you a better perspective on politics and government than a more traditional politician?
Whats more of a challenge for me over the years being in elected office has been more the age issue rather than a gender issue. Ive totally ignored the issues that have potentially been affecting me when it comes to gender because I was raised in a family where, you know, gender wasnt going to be an issue. The girls did what the boys did. Apparently in Alaska thats quite commonplace. Youre out there hunting and fishing. My parents were coaches, so I was involved in sports all my life. So I knew that as woman I could do whatever the men were doing. Also thats just part of Alaskan life.
But the age issue I think was more significant in my career than the gender issue. Your resume not being as fat as your opponents in a race, perhaps [but] being able to capitalize on that
being able to to use that in campaigns I dont have 30 years of political experience under my belt
thats a good thing, thats a healthy thing. That means my perspective is fresher, more in touch with the people I will be serving. I would use that as an advantage. Ive certainly never been part of a good old boy club. That I would use in a campaign. And thats been good.
