Additional Link to Chicago Tribune article: "NATO: No 'business as usual' with Moscow" The Russian planes have been challenged by Alaska-based F-22s and F-15s and escorted in the other direction without incident, officials said. ...
BRUSSELS, Belgium - BRUSSELS, Belgium -- NATO allies said Tuesday there would be no "business as usual" with Moscow until Russian troops withdraw from all parts of Georgia, but members of the Western alliance disagreed on the extent to which Moscow should be more permanently isolated.
An alliance declaration calling on Russia to "demonstrate -- both in word and deed" its commitment to its cooperative relationship with NATO, one U.S. official said, was "better than we thought" could be achieved in the face of reluctance from some European partners.
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice said, "The United States sought precisely what we got in this statement." But other diplomats said the consensus document was a reflection of the fact that the alliance has few options -- short of military action, which its members have rejected -- to force its will on Russia.

There's been a lot of discussion flying around and promoted by the left that Governor Sarah Palin has no foreign relations experience. In short, that's a load of bull from ignorant talking heads who are in a panic over McCain's excellent choice of a running mate.
As Governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin is the Commander in Chief of the Alaska National and Air Guard that combined is a force larger than many third world armies.

Alaska is compelled to take daily defensive postures against Russian TU-95 Bear flights and other frequent incursions.

An F22 "escorts" a TU95 Bear
Governor Palin also is at constant odds with Russia over fishing rights and other aspects of running a state 1/3 the size of the continental United States right next to an aggressive competitive nation with precious little moral boundaries.

"Can I get cheese with that? Hello?!?"
Compare that with Obama's foreign relations experience, which, outside of his "Berlin Bust" was previously relegated to pressing #1 for English or #2 for Spanish.
I really don't think Obama wants to take this debate any farther.

I'm not at all worried about Governor Palin handling herself in them. Heck, Sarah Palin's couch is tougher than Joe Biden...
Absolutely! The charge is weak. She also happens to have direct experience with two of today’s hot button issues, environmental concerns and energy independence.

Har!
Palin’s state is right next to Russia and the North Pole. Biden’s state is just a few miles from Washington D.C!
ah, yes. It seems to have slipped the minds of the genius elite that the Governor of Alaska is the Chief Executive of a state that is a short hop from a superpower that is hostile to America’s interests.
The irony of a trophy “Bear” and the Russian TU 95 Bear reconnaissance aircraft.
I’m curious to know what Putin thinks of Palin being possibly the next leader of the United States of America.

The fact that the Alaska Air National Guard has F-22s speaks volumes as to how the federal government feels about the importance of Alaska and its National guard in our national defence. How many other national guards have F-22s?

Great bumper sticker. Based on her experience as a Mayor, a Governor, and CIC of the Alaska Guard, a very compelling argument can and should be made that she is the ONLY one on either ticket with any creditable EXECUTIVE experience.
She is the governor of the only state that borders two foreign countries.
Thank you for this awesome graphic. It could not depict more succinctly the differences in our Core Beliefs and our Candidates.
BTW, STOLEN! Hahaha
To be fair McCain was the commanding officer of the largest squadron in the Navy. So the McCain-Palin ticket easily trumps Obama-Biden on creditable experience.
Bookmarked
several border with mexico and several border canada but bordering Russia is serious stuff.

Here's a better question, how many others need them?
Have you seen:

BAD MEN
I thought the F-22's belong to the USAF at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. You mean the Alaska ANG also has the F-22?
And for that matter.....the couch picture....put Obamas head on the Bear and Bidens head on the lobster...hahaha!
You’re right. So long ago that I forgot about it. Sorry.
It looks like I am wrong, they are not National Guard planes. I was confused by some of the captions on the pictures recently of the F-22. Sorry, false alarm.
Ccan you make this image smaller so I can print out? To big for my printer.
The words and pictures says it all.
Freepers rule!!
The slogan was originally posted to FR by Renfield. Islander7 created the graphic. I've merely taken the initiative in publicizing it.
The highest compliment one can give a strong woman is to say that she has “balls of steel”.
And Sarah Palin is definitely the iron fist in the velvet glove.
What a find.
What a candidate.
RUSSIA !!! LAY DOWN YOUR ARMS !!! RESISTANCE IS FUTILE !!! WE GOT A LADY WHO KNOW’S HOW TO DEAL WITH “ THE RUSSIAN BEAR !!!
No! Very Clever, Mr. Clever...:)
A horribly perfect visual
The Alaska Air National Guard does have a lot of logistics assests that can be used, say, in hurricane disaster relief. If Gov. Jindal were to ask for it. And she weren't busy because the convention was delayed. Just talking out loud.
Yes, but much, much younger.
And (making obligatory pig snorts here) a lot easier on the eyes.

I just noticed in this picture that Obama has the receiver backwards. He's talking into the earpiece. Did he the coiled cord looked bad so he flipped the phone upside down? Is he talking to someone in one of the 57 states?
What I cant understand is how the liberal McCain ended up choosing Palin?
Did enough in the RNC say “no liberal running mate”? Did someone in the RNC finally develop some nads?
Would be better if McCain would step aside and let Palin be the Presidential nominee. Rather have the liberal in the Blair House than in the White House
It’s a king crab!
HAHAHA! You are right....was not thinking...talking on phone at same time.... ;)
Hilarious! Thanks for pointing that out.
Obviously, it’s just a posed photo-op, trying to show the Anointed One “in the moment” and “making an important executive decision.” He probably pulled out the phone jack because he would have noticed that the dial-tone was coming out of the other end of the phone.
His team can’t even take a posed photograph without screwing up!
LOL, I wish I could take credit for it! There’s a “fake” bumper sticker floating around FR somewhere with that on it.

(It isn't nearly as visually attractive as the one you did, but it is more readable...)
And they call Pres. Bush a dope! roflol!
