That's the truth. The great Ronald Reagan was 'blessed' with a son by Nancy that looked like a freak and loved his tutus. And his daughter by Nancy wrote two thinly veiled novels attacking her parents. And Dick Cheney has a lesbian daughter. Let's admit as the British say, "Every family 'as one".
I admire Lavin because she stands by her principles; she wouldn't abort Trig when she learned he was a Down's Syndrome baby, and the 17 year old daughter will not abort her baby.
If MSM tries to push the issue on this..its only going to backlash against them.
Teen pregnancy can happen to any family..no matter who it is. We can educate our kids, try to instill the right values in them..and they still can and will make mistakes.
The story here is that she’s keeping the child or as Obama puts it “being punished with a child”. She could have aborted this child..and would have been celebrated by the liberals for it.
Instead..she’s and her family are taking responsibility and she’s marrying the father of the child.
How hypocritical will it be for the media to go after Palin and her family for doing..what quite frankly many families WON’T do in this situation in our country.
This is a matter that should be one handled within the Palin family...and thats it..

Excuse me -- what is this girl "in trouble" for? What law did she break? What crime did she commit?
She broke a commandment of God, and needs to deal with that with God. But she is going to be a wife and a mother, and that isn't "trouble".
But I hope the democrats compare a woman being pregnant with a boy behaving badly -- it's more of the same sexist thinking that permeates the Democratic party.

I wonder if the smart and graceful thing to do is “decline” to accept the nomination. After all, her son is going to Iraq. She has a newborn baby. Her daughter is pregnant and unwed. This would allow a new Veep candidate to step to the plate, immediately.
I agree, her kids behavior is irrelevant to her ability to lead. We need to look no further than Reagan’s kids to see how irrelevant.
It is funny how the media makes this BREAKING NEWS, yet when Al Gore’s son was busted for pot, it wasn’t a peep in the media.

I am sensing a double standard on this thread and this is not who we are.
McCain has issued a statement saying he knew about it before he chose Palin, he considered it a private family matter, and he doesn’t think it makes a difference.
I DO think it makes a difference.
It underscores again that Palin is a regular lady from a regular family. She fishes, shoots, runs kids to school, worries over dating teens, and even has to deal with family crises.
And she’s governor of a state.
And she’s pro-life, and they’re not trying to kill a baby to make a problem go away. The abortion movement got off the ground in my era because we used to treat young girls who got carried away with their boyfriends as the worst creatures on the face of the earth. Because of how they were treated, they went looking desperately for a solution....and they came up with abortion.
