Anybody want to guess how many teenagers have had unprotected, premarital sex and were lucky enough NOT to conceive? A little compassion is warranted, not hypocrisy

Let me see if I got this right.
In ReutersWorld, half a year ago, Sarah knew there would be rumors that her son is actually her daughter's kid.
So to protect her daughter's virtue today, she arranged to get her knocked up five months ago, just so she could deny that her daughter was pregnant with Trig?
Yeah. That makes sense.
To a liberal.

Does anyone really think, now, that Palin is going to woo in conservatives in the South and Middle America? Only the most brain-dead liberal GOPer thinks this will have no affect on the campaign Oh, I think it will have an effect - a positive effect. What makes ou think this will turn conservatives against Palin? Because her daughter got pregnant? I think you must be a liberal if you have such a narrow-minded view of conservatives. Most people realize that kids make mistakes - how we deal with them is what is important.
In this case, the family demonstrated true conservative Christian values - the parents love their daughter unconditionally, the daughter chooses life for her child and the father is stepping up to his responsibility by marrying her and providing for his family. What is unconservative about that?

Knocks it right back in the left's face. Guess Sarah wasn't "covering up" a fake pregnancy for her daughter, eh, a-holes?
And what is the left going to say? This is her family and it's a private matter. Didn't Obama say his family was off limits everytime Michelle became an issue?
She's keeping her baby and marrying the father whereas Obama wants his daughters to get abortions if they become pregnant. I think this only highlights why Palin makes a fantastic VP, especially with Evangelicals.

But, you see, this is how the left thinks conservatives view things. They have no clue.

They didn’t release this to rebut rumors, they released it because the girl is pregnant and would certainly become public knowledge soon. Better to release it yourself than let the other side, so that there can be no claim of an attempted coverup.

What makes Reuters think that Palin has to rebut idiotic stories that she was never pregnant? Everybody knows she was pregnant and had a baby.

So, in a few years the child can ask..”Ma, Ma, Where’s Grandma!” Gone to the White House! Ha ha ha!

It does present a problem, but abortion is a real issue so it presents an opportunity also. She can move the conversation to responsibility over convenience and unconditional love of our children in a way a man could not. It is also another landmine laid out by the McCain campaign because the more they attack her and the degree to which they attack her will move more women to vote for the GOP ticket. ABSOLUTELY. Good assesment, and yes, lets start a conversation...about abortion, a 11 week old fetus, that a babies unique DNA is a whole new creation. And just what do the ghouls do with aborted fetuses, hmmmm? most moms and grandma's will not appreciate the ghouls degrading the Palins over this. remember, Slick's BJ was HIS business. Algores son was arrested. Bidens son is under investigation... LMAO

The pregnancy was mentioned in the FR Dayton Live Thread 3 days ago (http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2070541/posts), but no one picked up on it.
I just wonder how the libs distorted it into the crazy story that Sarah’s son is Bristol’s? It’s like playing the game Gossip when you’re a kid.

BUMP! Great post, and my thoughts exactly ;}
I am off to send emails to the McCain campaign to let them know that THIS Conservative Christian, is not bailing on the Palin family, or the McCain campaign. Me, my thoughts, prayers and support are sticking with all of them. Lord knows, they need them.

Dude, Palin was vetted. McCain knew. If the girl had aborted the baby that would be a problem. Having the baby and marrying the father is no problem. IOWs the bigger sin would be killing the baby and thats what separates us from them.My reaction when hearing this was swearing at the TV, but I knew it was true when the other stations reported it too.
Your post made it all clear. Getting pregnant this way should be forgiven, and the sinner not condemned. The greater issue is that she is having the baby and will be welcomed into a loving family. If she marries the father out of love, it will be a good thing. Both of them will have to grow up fast. (BTW, I read on one site that the governor herself gave birth to son Track less than 9 months after she and Todd were married.)

Your wrong. A first reaction would be, "how sad." But think about it. Bibical conservatives are not saying that they are ABOVE SIN, but that they REPENT and get back on track!!!!!
MANY MANY Americans will identify with Sarah Palin and Bristol at this point and cudos and applause for doing the right thing and not aborting that unborn baby!! SHE HAS MY SUPPORT!!!!
This is BAD news. At this point, the Palins are a distraction, and I fear this will be what turns the campaign in Obamas direction permanently.

Agreed, and it needs to be noted, the age of consent in Alaska is 16.
Should I presume the whole birth questions concerning Obama are now fair game?

I agree. The Dems are going to attack the party of "family values" Having a kid out of wedlock does not compute for the family values party. There is no way to honestly spin our way out of this. McCain team screwed up. Hopefully, it won't have a long-lasting effect on the campaign.
