UK Telegraph: Dutch withdraw spy from Iran because of 'impending US attack'
Telegraph (UK) ^ | 9:24AM BST 01 Sep 2008 | Bruno Waterfield in Brussels

The Dutch intelligence service has pulled an agent out of an "ultra-secret operation" spying on Iran's military industry because spymasters in Netherlands believe a United States air attack was imminent.

According to reports in the newspaper De Telegraaf, the country's intelligence service, the AIVD, has stopped an espionage operation aimed at infiltration and sabotage of the weapons industry in Iran.

"The operation, described as extremely successful, was halted recently in connection with plans for an impending US air attack on Iran," said the report.

"Targets would also be bombed which were connected with the Dutch espionage action."

"Well placed" sources told the paper that a top agent had been recalled recently "because the US was thought to be making a decision within weeks to attack Iran with unmanned aircraft".

"Information from the AIVD operation has in recent years been shared with the American CIA secret service."

Dutch Spies Quit Iran Due to ‘Imminent U.S. Attack’: From De Telegraaf of The Netherlands

*************************EXCERPT****************

August 31st, 2008 by WILLIAM KERN

According to Friday Morning’s Edition Of The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf, the Dutch intelligence service has halted a very successful operation to ’sabotage’ Iran’s weapons program due to an imminent American attack that would have put its activities and personnel at risk.

Joost de Haas and Bart Mos of De Telegraaf report in part:

“The Dutch Intelligence Service AIVD [Algemene Inlichtingen- en Veiligheidsdienst or General Intelligence and Security Service ] has in recent years been running a top secret operation inside Iran with the aim of infiltrating and sabotaging the weapons industry of the Islamic republic.

The operation, described as being extremely successful, was recently discontinued in connection of plans for an imminent U.S. air strike on Iran. Well-informed sources have told De Telegraaf, some of the targets of the strike are directly linked to the Dutch espionage operation.”

If this is true, it is Great News. War with Iran will ensure the election of the McCain/Palin ticket.

Reporters should be legally banned from dealing with intelligence issues of any kind - ever.

Take this logical mind-number: “The operation, described as extremely successful, was halted” Um, if it was soo successful then why would the US need to bomb Iran?? The operation was trying to sabotage the Iranian nuclear program.

Nobody talks about withdrawing spies. If you did, your citizens would never be allowed to travel because every other country would think they are all spies. You would never be able to get into countries like Iran if they knew you were spying. So it’s pretty obvious that nobody involved in intelligence is going to talk to the media about it.

Only politician-turds who are on the outside but wish they were on the inside talk to the media.

OH, and pro-terrorist types LOVE to leak crap like to the media knowing that it will run with virtually no fact checking. It’s called counter-intelligence propaganda. Iran and it’s allies get to claim that it is a victim of the US without the US having done anything. Fidel Castro, anyone?

Biden goes on record....as an appeaser:

Biden tells Israel, accept Iran's bomb

****************************EXCERPT***********************

In the unsourced report, Army Radio also quoted Biden as saying that he opposed "opening a additional military and diplomatic front."

Article with pictures even! It’ll make the Iranians think the attack is coming from drones when in fact it’ll arrive from Missouri in another form :-)

The only way to find out for sure whether an attack was imminent, would be to discover that the Wikipedia entry on the Nuclear program of Iran has been recently extensively updated.

This “news” would not have been published if there were not a government purpose to its publication.

We h ave a lot of hurricanes down here. Once in a while, a great while, we get a Katrina or a Camille or an Andrew. Most of them are just part of The Weather and do not end life as we know it.This storm had special import because of its possible upstaging of the Republican Convention. McCain showing his acuity and guile, has turned it to Republican advantage. It will not do to the Republican convention what the announcement of Palin as VP did to Hussein’s Great Frat Party Speech

this reporter would not have written any such thing if it were not “leaked” to him by the agency that wanted this to be published. This item may or may not be true at all. A government wanted it published. The government’s reason for that is obscure.

This sounds like a bunch of BS to me...I’ve never heard of unmanned aircraft that can “attack”.

Besides, if anyone were to target/bomb a few specific facilities in Iran I would think that would come from Israel.

An attack on Iranian nuclear facilities or a few outhouses? Lets get serious. We have no unmanned aircraft capable of carrying nuclear tipped 20,000 ton deep penetrator bombs. This article is a bunch of nonsense.
The main mission to destroy Iranian nuclear facilities deeply buried in bedrock and re-enforced within using re-enforced concrete will require our newest generation deep penetrators. Period. We are talking about either B52 and or B1 or B2 heavy bombers to deliver such heavy loads. And no. Our cruise missiles are not capable of carrying the type ordnance required to penetrate 150 plus feet into bedrock then explode a nuclear device.
So we would be talking about a few dozen major strikes carried out by our Navy, Marines, and Airforce to take out all ground to air defenses and all air to air defenses the Iranians would put up so that our bombers could get through and deliver their heavy stuff.
Anything less then this is pure bull shit.
