What issues are you really worried about. Their ridiculous claim that Trig wasn’t Sarah’s baby turned out to be a false, malicious, and unfounded lie. The trooper gate scandal sounds bad untill you learn the facts and realize that the trooper in question had tasered her nephew, threatened her fathers life and threatened her sister. He had also drunk while on the job, abused his authority and gotten into a brawl in a bar - not to mention illegally shooting a moose. So, if you were the chief executive officer and you knew all these facts about one of your cops don’t you think you would mention them. Especially if the chief of your security determined that this cop was a threat and told you to communicate this to the police department. Anyway, this scandal is so over as soon as people learn the facts.

I hope you’re right... I loved her introductory speech, and I feel a bit disillusioned with all the subsequent surprises - a lot of the luster has come off so quickly, I wanted to believe the fairy tale of the perfect candidate - she was it!
That her daughter is pregnant is not the issue (I wish them well), that it came as a surprise is the issue, and whether McCain really knew about it is the issue, which brings up the more encompassing issue of how well she was checked out and what other skeletons are there that they didn’t know about. Is it true that McCain has sent out another team to investigate her background?
I understand she was given a questionnaire with 70 questions and interviewed for 3 hours. I think McDonald does a more thorough screening than that for hamburger flippers.

Many of them are. Biden’s son is facing a huge fraud lawsuit, but do you see widespread media hang-wringing on what a derelict father, unsuited for office, Joe must therefore be?
Edwards has young children and a wife gravely ill from cancer, but was there a media frenzy in overdrive about his running for the presidency rather than tending to his family at home?
The Palin-faked-her-presidency story was ridiculous on the face of it, but there is the press admitting that’s what they were up in Alaska trying to ferret out, and just how much of Obama’s murky background have they even deemed fit to question at all?

I am guessing that many in the MSM had this story long before the Pailin Family issued the press release stating that their daughter was pregnant. If the family had not done the press release the MSM would have stayed away from the story but the girl’s condition would have been obvious whenever she was with her mom on the campaign trail.
And yes, conservatives can never expect fair treatment from the MSM and therefore they should not provide them with so much ammo.

How many of us have staged a photo for its silly effect? I once staged a photo with my girlfriend on Halloween. I was dressed up as Count Dracula with false fangs and had my girlfriend, dressed as Snow White, lend me her neck for a bite (with ketchup for the fake blood) as my friend took the photos. The photos were so real! They were hilarious! My friends who saw them thought they were wild! Did those photos prove that I was a vampire? What if I had Internet access at that time? You bet I would have put them on the Internet! Should my parent's home been visited with pitchforks and torches if I had published my Halloween photos on the Internet?
Even if these photos are of Bristol gone wild, I am sure Sarah Palin has dealt with her daughter's indiscretions with strength and sensitivity. This is her daughter who she loves very much. It is a family matter and Sarah will find out if they are fake photos or something to work out.
With a pregnancy, Bristol will need to find maturity and responsibility in her youth. So will her young husband to be. The days of youthful drinking parties, if they ever happened, will be replaced with the matters of growing up.
Have you been to "HillaryClintonForum.net"? The reason I ask is because I have been there a lot in the past few days and it's been very surprising. For one thing, they have reasonable, intellectual debate over the current political climate. they are well spoken and their posts reflect thoughtfulness and intelligence. Finally, many of them have become HUGE Palin supporters because of Obama's sexist attacks against Hillary Clinton.
From what I'm reading, they are extremely sickened by these attacks against a female candidate and her family.
It's worth going to visit. For me in particular, because after years of only have "Democrat underground" and "KOS" as a view into the minds and thoughts of the left, it's refreshing to see discussion that, were it not for their support of Hillary, would be similar to the higher end debates we have here at FR.
It gives me hope for some reason. Mostly because they seem reasonable enough that we might be able to talk and come to some sort of common ground some day. Provided we don't have to sacrifice our principles to get there...
