Palin’s Start in Alaska: Not Politics as Usual (Another Slimes Palin Hitpiece) *BARF ALERT*
The New York Times ^ | 9/3/2008 | WILLIAM YARDLEY

The world arrived here more than a century ago with the gold rush and later the railroad. Yet one aspect of American life did not come to town until 1996, the year Sarah Palin ran for mayor and Wasilla got its first local lesson in wedge politics.

-SNIP-

Anti-abortion fliers circulated. Ms. Palin played up her church work and her membership in the National Rifle Association. The state Republican Party, never involved before because city elections are nonpartisan, ran advertisements on Ms. Palin’s behalf.

Two years after Representative Newt Gingrich helped draft the Contract With America to advance Republican positions, Ms. Palin and her passion for Republican ideology and religious faith overtook a town known for a wide libertarian streak and for helping start the Iditarod dog sled race.

Ah, typical liberal smear campaign. Smear Palin for her love of God and guns and try to associate her with Gingrich.

So predictable of the left wing establishment.

They get the book banning allegation in there too.

We didn’t hear how Obama won his first election at the Dem Convo. Wonder why?

Even the book banning allegation was completely empty of facts. What books?

This article was a whole lot of nuthin’. Innuendo, rumor, and allegation just can’t put life in a story with NO facts.

You can if you are the almighty NY Times aka the DNC's Pravda.

You have to love the change of tactics though -- trying to pin her as an eeeevvvvilll conservative, just like all the others. Which is it? No experience of smart like a Fox, Slimes?

If the Dems did this for Obama, the NYTs would use it as an example of Obama's creative thinking and political skill.

You know... I don't think we're the only ones tiring of the mudslinging, really. The public is going to tire of it as well. And, when they do I really feel this is going to backfire on the Dems. They are going to go overboard out of fear, and if it goes on much longer they will end up driving people to her side because of it... No-one with all of these problems (as the MSM is trying to say) has an 80-90% approval rating from their constituents! Heck who has EVER had that high a rating in any elected position? Anyone?

After tomorrow night I fully expect the GOP, and Sarah herself to come out swinging... The Libs are backing themselves into a corner trying to define her in a way that will not mesh with what the public will eventually see of her... In the meantime -- all press is good press because if they're all talking about her, they aren't fawning over Obama! LOL

ALL: I have started a Palin Ping List, it's a once-daily ping... FReepmail me if you want to be on the list or see this thread for more info.: The Unofficial "Official" Palin Newswire (aka Palin Ping List) (See post #58 on the linked thread for the inaugural ping).

How much longer will little Arthur’s family continue to see their stock value go down before they sell? Unlike Washington Post who is divisfied and makes money in other areas.

The fear of the media is palatable.... They are going to screech all week long in a very pathetic attempt to besmirch and belittle Palin. Some of them are even foolishly thinking they can get her kicked off the ticket. They won’t, but why are they so scared?

Let’s face it... They know the gig is up. If Palin remains as McCain’s pick, their media darling Barry O will lose and probably in very big way, but you’d think that they’d be used to it by now.

This weekend there will be a stream of editorials lamenting how attacking the ‘messenger’ never works, but those editorials and the premise they espouse will be wrong...

The media has always been the Democrat party’s favorite leg hump, yet their adoring ways and vicious attacks on Republicans have only managed to produce four Democrat Presidential wins since 1952...

Kennedy in 1960, Carter in 1976 and Clinton in 1992 and 1996. Every other Presidential race since 1952 has been won by a Republican. I don’t mention 1964 because that was an election after the death of a President and the obvious victor with or without the media was Johnson.

The media loathed Eisenhower, Nixon, Regan and Bush all two term Presidents, but their hatred produced no wins.

Win Nixon won they called it the ‘Silent Majority’. With Regan it was the ‘Regan Democrats’, when Bush won it was ‘Stolen Elections’. They always have some phrase to explain why the rest of the nation didn’t agree with their advice to vote for the chosen liberal candidates.

And now they have the most liberal Presidential duo in history, the MSM’s dream ticket and their chance to get a little payback for all those humiliating losses over the past 50 years to Republicans.

McCain’s pick of Sarah Palin has stuck a stake through their hearts and it hurts... But, they’ll get over it. Losing is in their nature.

I don't have cable so I was watching PBS coverage last night and they brought this up. They talked about other VPs that got kicked off the tickets in the past and how that move was a death blow that election cycle to the party. This late in the cycle she can't step down, nor should she. This is going to be a rough 2 months for her and her family. There is no doubt about that. The question becomes how we, the base, choose to show our support for her and her family. First and foremost they have not presented any evidence of anything that disqualifies her. She has an accomplished resume. And as someone said last night at the convention, she has had to work with Canada and defend against Russia both in the air, the fishing waters, and search & rescue. She may not be a veteran, but she has some idea how military command and control works. Obama? They are looking so hard to try and find something, anything. And they keep coming up empty handed. We cannot let their mucking around Palin destroy her.

“Two years after Representative Newt Gingrich helped draft the Contract With America to advance Republican positions, ...”

Incredibly lame!

[Insert number here] years after Representative Newt Gingrich helped draft the Contract With America to advance Republican positions, Obama became a “community organizer” (whatever that is). There, now we have a direct tie from Obama to Gingrich.

The NYT/MSM/DNC sure is afraid of her. They are sparing no expense to destroy her before the public even gets a chance to hear her tonight. Glenn Beck was just going over all these stories and I’ve never heard anything like it.

That’s actually what AP style says you have to use (it specifically say not to use pro-life), and most newspapers use it. It’s so stupid and shows the left value of the AP.

Here is something, we can all do this week to start eliminating the NY Slimes as a threat to our nation.

We can do it at our computers and do it in less than 1 hour. Besides sending a severe warning to the NY Slimes and the mutual fund companies which buy and own NY Slimes stock. We will improve our precious investment capital being wasted on NY Slimes stock.

If a few thousand freepers did this simple action this week and a few thousand new freepers, friends and relatives each following week, we will have a terminal impact on the vile NY Slimes acts like their trashing of Sarah Palin.

Please send this simple "how to" to your blogs, friends, relatives and email lists. This action will serve as a cannon shot across the bows fo the other Dinosaur Liberal Fish Wraps re sedition will not be tolerated any more.

INSTRUCTIONS FROM Grampa Dave:

Want to smash the NY Slimes?
Check your mutual funds to see if they own NYT, the NY Slimes Stock

How many of us own mutual funds which own NY Slimes stock and even worse have increased their NYT holdings this year.

NYT investment by a mutual fund company is a terrible investment re the dollar loss in Stock value the last 2 years. Those investments are an attempt to keep the NY Slimes afloat with our mutual fund $'s.

Now it is very evident that the NY Slimes is an agent and abettor of the al Qaeda Serial Killers. The Slimes is endangering the lives of our families, friends, innocent Americans and every warrior of ours.

Go to this link to see if your mutual fund owns NYT.

http://moneycentral.msn.com/ownership?Symbol=NYT http://moneycentral.msn.com/investor/invsub/ownership/ownership.asp

When the MS Money stock home page comes up, enter NYT into the search area and hit enter and the following screen will show up re ownership of the NY Slimes stock:

The New York Times Company: Ownership Information

  • Shares Outstanding 145.00 Mil

  • Institutional Ownership (%) 83.40

  • Top 10 Institutions (%) 58.60

  • Mutual Fund Ownership (%) 42.64

  • 5%/Insider Ownership (%) 7.77

  • Float (%)

Highlight the Mutual Fund Ownership and hit enter.

If thousands of Freepers, whose mutual funds own shares of NY Slimes did the following:

  1. Sell those mutual funds or trade them for funds not owning NYT.

  2. Send a letter to the fund managers and the CEO's of the mutual fund company telling them why you sold/transferred their mutual fund owning NY Slimes stock. Then demand to know why they are wasting your precious $'s on a lie based fishwrap company which is a terrible investment.

  3. Contact the SEC to investigate why this mutual fund and mutual fund company invested your $'s in one of the worse investments of the past 2 years. Was the investment of yours and others a political bailout of the NY Slimes.

  4. Send this how to re Mutual Funds with NYT stock to everyone on your email list for a wakeup call.

We might have a lot more impact than trying to boycott companies which sell to the elite liberals of NYC and advertise in the NY Slimes.
