ENQURIER RESPONDS TO MCCAIN/PALIN
Drudge ^

Posted on 09/03/2008 4:13:52 PM PDT by cdchik123

"The National Enquirer's coverage of a vicious war within Sarah Palin's extended family includes several newsworthy revelations, including the resulting incredible charge of an affair plus details of family strife when the Governor's daughter revealed her pregnancy. Following our John Edwards' exclusives, our political reporting has obviously proven to be more detail-oriented than the McCain campaign's vetting process. Despite the McCain camp's attempts to control press coverage they find unfavorable, The Enquirer will continue to pursue news on both sides of the political spectrum."

Yes. And notice how they phrase it as an "incredible charge" -- incredible meaning "not credible."

They smell blood. They are holding out for Gov. Palin to have some remarks about her faith and morality in the National audience.

Then they will go to print. Not good.

"The Enquirer will continue to pursue news on both sides of the political spectrum."

This is why the Obammie Boys threw Edwards under the bus with their garbage about Edwards. They could give a ---- about the feelings of Elizabeth Edwards. They were reaching for some type of credibility by "smearing" an irrelevant 'RAT so now they think they are justified in "smearing" Governor Palin. I think I'll wait until the next issue with the story about the torrid affair between Governor Palin, Bigfoot and those alien guys.

ST. PAUL, MINN.) – John McCain’s campaign threatened legal action against the National Enquirer today for running a story about McCain’s running mate, Sarah Palin, allegedly having an affair with her husband’s business partner.

“The smearing of the Palin family must end. The allegations contained on the cover of the National Enquirer insinuating that Gov. Palin had an extramarital affair are categorically false. It is a vicious lie,” said McCain senior adviser Steve Schmidt.

I am too. If it is true though then “We had marital difficulties, we worked on them and are now enjoying a close, loving marriage” might be enough.

Voters knew about Bill Clinton and Jennifer Flowers before they elected him after all!

When some in the self-righteous political elite tried to smear a woman for their political careers, Jesus responded by writing their own sins on the ground, in the middle of the Temple in Jerusalem, the most trafficked area in all of Palestine. He laid bare their own sins for all to see.

My point: Senator McCain, this isn't going to end until you return the favor! Don't stop saying the name of William Ayers until November 5.

The NE link is back to the Clintons, and they’ll smear Hillary’s enemies on either side of the aisle. Of course, such as in Edwards’ case, it’s made easier if the smear is true and can be documented.

I remember Carol Burnett suing the Enquirer for calling her drunk in public.

I also remember her winning.

The fact that they got the Edwards story right (plus they had photos) doesn’t mean they have this one right. If I recall correctly from other threads, this is being promulgated by a Palin “enemy.” It wouldn’t surprise me if her ex brother-in-law was behind it - using his proximity to the family as proof of his credibility.

Can ya think this was all about giving them some kind of credibility later? This revelation about Edwards was old hat sent toward a candidate that was dead meat anyway. Who really cares about John Edwards or his tramp momma of his kid? Where is the grand finale on the Edwards story?

I see Hillary behind all of this.

If it is true ... and that's a BIG, BIG, BIG, BIG if; I don't believe everything I read, but I can't in good conscience say there's absolutely nothing to it either, because only God and the Palins know for sure, none of the rest of us do... then what you said needs to be done sooner rather than later. The more it lingers, the worse it's going to be.

If it's not true, then McCain should take legal action simply for the P.R. standpoint of appearing to fight for his choice, because it will be tough to prove in court that the Enquirer did this maliciously knowing up front that it was false, which is the standard that a public figure has to meet to win a libel case. Even if they can't meet that standard, though, him fighting for his wronged running mate will be a great move politically (and morally too).

That explains it. Disgusting how Bill Clinton and The Swimmer addressed the Democratic convention and not a mention of their sleazy past unless I missed it. Instead, The Swimmer was referred to as the Lion. At least they had John Edwards stay away. But I heard that he might be giving speeches at colleges. They have no shame.

Yes, Mark Levin pointed out that ownership of National Enquirer is owned by close friends of the Clintons. I didn’t know that and it makes sense now why they were relentless in pursuit of Edwards.

The Clintons have to go yesterday. They’ve been the most divisive politicians since they hit the stage in the early 1990s.

I am not a tin foil hat kind of a guy, but all of this will test anyone’s ability to logically interpret ongoing events. I think that Barak Obama is indeed the Annointed One. He has been annointed by the group of dedicated Marxists who operate in the shadows and who have taken control of many American institutions including the Democrat Party. Obama is their greatest opportunity yet to take control of this country (Gore, Kerry, McCarthy, Mondale, and others having failed). Moreover, he is the most dedicated Marxist of them all.

Nothing can be allowed to stand in their way, least of all some upstart hayseed Mom from the hinterlands. They will stop at nothing to destroy her and to destroy any opposition to the Annointed One. They have done this before during Obama’s campaigns for state and US senate. Sometimes I think I’m watching a Mia Farrow movie and Damon, I mean Obama, is about to reveal the 666 on his scalp.

Scotty, beam me up.
