Obama might pursue criminal charges against Bush· Biden says criminal violations will be pursued · Democrats have issued subpoenas to Bush aides · 3 staffers have been held in contempt of CongressElana Schor in Washington guardian.co.uk, Wednesday September 03 2008 19:32 BST Article historyDemocratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden said yesterday that he and running mate Barack Obama could pursue criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.

Biden's comments, first reported by ABC news, attracted little notice on a day dominated by the drama surrounding his Republican counterpart, Alaska governor Sarah Palin.

But his statements represent the Democrats' strongest vow so far this year to investigate alleged misdeeds committed during the Bush years.

"If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued," Biden said during a campaign event in Deerfield Beach, Florida, according to ABC.

"[N]ot out of vengeance, not out of retribution," he added, "out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president -- no one is above the law."

I guess Obama has decided the only way to get his ratings up again is to go on the attack against Bush. That speaks volumes!

The RNC needs to get out an ad showing all the useless committee hearings the Dems have had and are still having trying to dig up dirt on Bush/Cheney while they are doing NOTHING to get more and cheaper energy for the people.
And the tag line should be: If you want fewer investigations and gridlock in Washington, and more affordable energy, vote Republican.

Rats say, “don’t look at me! As long as we shift the blame elsewhere, nobody will investigate our corruption and illegal, unconstitutional activity.”

Smokescreens. Smart people see through them.
And theres the question about the 9% approval rating of the DemoRat controlled congress. NOW THATS WORTH INVESTIGATING!

Except for Clinton, he’s above the law, isn’t he Joe.

Better to sell our country’s secrets to the Chinese than to make a mistake isn’t it Joe.

“no one, no attorney general, no president — no one is above the law.”

Hey Stupid, the Clintons proved they were above the law. So did Teddy Kennedy.

This is a sign of sheer desperation in the Obama camp.

Sarah should refund the American people for the incompetence of the Congress for the past two years. We have wasted far too much money for what we have received in return.....

Can someone tell me exactly what violations there are? Just saying Bush is a criminal and trampled the constitution, fine, I just want one of these people to say more than he is a criminal. They are desperate and mean. They have nothing but I guess this talk is red meat for them. So much for bringing the country together.

Pursue charges against Bush if Obama is elected? Don’t worry, Obama, you’re not going to get elected. If, by some quirk of fate you were elected, what would that prove other than you’re an egotistical, power-hungry, publicity-seeking, unqualified politician with lots of connections to shady people.

One of the best lines of the entire Bush presidency was shortly after the invasion of Iraq. A presstitue asked a pointed question of Mr. Bush, suggesting that the invasion was a violation of international law. The president shrugged his shoulders, smirked and said, "I guess I better call my lawyer."

I'm going to guess he'll treat this posturing with the same aplomb.

“[N]ot out of vengeance, not out of retribution,”

He’s a liar. He can’t threaten people like that and get away with it. We don’t have to toe the Democrats’ line.

I guess they are throwing red meat to the base. The DUers must be salivating. And it just goes to show you what a 4 year presidency of BARAK HUSSEIN OBAMA would be like.

The McCain administration will pursue a criminal investigation against the Obama campaign to determine what happened to the $300,000,000.00 it went through. If it was raised and spent legally they will have nothing to hide.

But my guess is that Barak and David will be cell mates.
