The Bad Part of Sarah Palin's Speech
Texas Songwriter

Posted on 09/05/2008 9:35:33 AM PDT by Texas Songwriter

I said to my wife something which Rush Limbaugh said yesterday. The only thing bad about Sarah's speech was that she had to come to an end. I told my wife as Sarah spoke that I could listen to her all night long. Mesmerizing.

The bad part of the speech was that I decided not to record it in HD. Now I regret it very very very much.

Anyone know if any of the stations will be replaying it in HD? CNN HD? Fox News HD?

Is there a Fox News on HD? They are not HD on DiSH, which is why I watched her speech on CNN.

I’ve got a better one than that!!! My husband called me yesterday and told me that he’d taken a nap and dreamed that I died!!! I told him that if he dreams that Todd dies, too, he’s a dead man!!!! : )

I like Sarah so much because my wife is exactly like her...strong, smart, tender, loves her babies, hard worker, at times help me castrate steers, helps me put up hay for the winter, beautiful.

She knows how much I love her. She loves me. We both love Sarah, her family, her story. There is no jealousy in this household.

I recorded it. Watched it 3 times and I am not through yet.

I do wish they picked a better song to end her speech. LET ME IN COACH, was played after McCain's speech. It should of been moved to after her speech. It was a brilliant song selection but bad timing.

Now I want to tell everyone something. If you recorded Governor Palin’s speech, keep it. If you have a link to it, bookmark it. I will guarantee you we will want to look back at that glorious night to re-energize ourselves after being gut punched several times between now and November. The attacks will continue. Expect them. And they will get worse, they will even go nuclear if they have too. You will feel at times that maybe Obama will pull it off after all. Don’t fall for it. Don’t fall for the rope-a-dope. Stay energized. Stay in the game. We are going to win.

Let me go on record, I was right here on FR saying when Fred Thompson dropped out, that “a McCain for President Yard sign will never cast its shadow on my front lawn”, and I would Never put a McCain bumper sticker on the car. Stopping short of saying I would never vote for him.

Well let me tell you, with his perfect performance at the Saddelback forum, his brilliant new style of ads, picking Sarah Palin someone who I have been watching since February as the VP, and now with her electrifying debut - I AM SO PUMPED I CAN’T BE CONTAINED.

Within minutes of the VP announcement last Friday I began searching websites to purchase bumper stickers, yard signs, T-shirts, anything. Heck right now I could break a taboo of mine and tattoo McCain/Palin 08 on my chest.

As a (hard-core) conservative desiring a candidate that was (either or both) Duncan Hunter or Tom Tancredo, I was NOT excited, nor even supportive of the rest of the choices in the line-up: Romney, Huckabee, Thompson, Giuliani or McCain.

That said, listening to Thompson, Huckabee, Romney and Giuliani give their speech, I was completely floored. My reasons for not being supportive of their candidacy, ther speeches far and away blew away ANY Libturd-Democrat and their entire party.

Like others have asked, where was that Thompson during the primaries?

I was in the same shape you were, but I have been hog-tied by Sarah Palin and, now, John McCain. It is Sarah’s Party, this Republican Party. It is the party of life. It is the party of all that is right for America.

The song is “Centerfield” by John Fogerty. I’m sure Fogerty is less than thrilled about the fact that it was played there.

I posted similar in one of the follow-up threads to her Wednesday speech. She is easy to listen to, not shrill like Clinton gets.

I hate to say it, but the bad part of her speech for me was her voice. Hillary’s voice still takes the cake on the annoy-o-meter, but Sarah’s came pretty close, even though she is saying things that I agree with, much unlike Hillary. But Palin has a “nagging mom” kind of vocal inflection — or maybe a Ferris Bueller’s principal’s secretary’s voice? — that really grated on my nerves. I read the full text of Palin’s speech BEFORE I actually saw it, and I must unfortunately say that reading it is the better way to digest it. Of course I’m still voting for her, annoying voice notwithstanding, but excuse me if I turn down the volume a bit during her speeches...
