I am one of those bitter folks clinging to his religion and constitution. Because I live in DC I don’t have a gun. I am, however, highly encouraged to read that your fellow citizens in the Telegraph are similarly outraged and exactly the kinds of sentiments that you have expressed. Given that Palin has more guts than most males on both sides of the Atlantic, I don’t think being called womanly is such a put down. What is pathetic is that a manly stud like yourself signs up 8 year olds to do your dirty work.

Speeding is a ‘crime’

Speeding is not a crime. It is a civil traffic offense.

Oh go get a soapbox and stand in Hyde Park along with the other raving nutters. While the Jesus freaks are relatively harmless, I suspect that some of your fellow citizens might encourage their dogs to use your leg for your gate post after they get a sniff of the sordid stuff you are preaching. That would be a crime!

If you are terrified of the awesome power of your child to report you and have a small fine imposed on you, you are a pathetic and weak individual.
I agree if the child had the power to see you dragged off and have your head blown away by a peaked-cap wearing apparatchik, on their mere say-so it would be a different matter, but that is patently not the case.

If folks like sinsoftheuniverse were susceptible to rational argument they would not hold the positions they do. The only tactic is to ridicule them, make them persona non grata and immunize the rest of the world against the poison spewing from their lips.

Go back to playing your little game:

Maybe you can load up a Phaser to blast dog poo in space.

Overview: In the future, the survival of humanity stands on the edge of utter ruin as three powerful factions vie for control of the galaxy. Take command of one of three space-faring races as you work to establish your domination of the galaxy in Sins of a Solar Empire. Through a combination of diplomacy, economic skill, cultural influence, and sheer military might you will establish order over your corner of the galaxy!

There must be a merry parade of folks with dogs just waiting for the right time to walk past your front gate.

*Sigh* reporting a justifiable crime which makes your community a slightly less salubrious place to live is not ‘dirty work’ it is a responsibility.
Look mate, things like the government abolishing double jeopardy, not letting people carry even the most basic weapons for the purpose of self-defence, trying to restrict the right to trial by jury, and trying to give themselves the power to lock up anyone they declare to be a ‘terrorist’ is a dire infringement of civil liberties that deserves to be confronted. This sort of thing isn’t.
People who commit crimes that cause damage to the community, even if it is relatively trivial, deserve to be caught and receive an appropriate punishment for it.
FWIW I wouldn’t grass up my own friends or parents for this kind of relatively trivial crime, but if they were caught and had a fine imposed on them that fitted the crime and was no more than an inconvenience, I wouldn’t get on the outrage bandwagon and try to make out there was a miscarriage of justice either....

reporting a justifiable crime

While I realize that the UK has not done a wonderful job teaching its citizens how to think, I at least thought they taught you folks over there how to write. No crime is "justifiable." If it is justifiable, it is not a crime.

No parent is going to live in fear of their kids because they (theoretically) have the power to make them pay a small fine for not disposing of their rubbish properly.

Not this year. Or next. Check back with us from your goldfish bowl (if you dare) in, say, 10 years?

but just because it isn’t a serious crime doesn’t mean the perpetrators don’t deserve to be caught and punished.

A real man would simply ask the owner to clean up the mess, please?

He wouldn't go whinging off to the police. I'm pretty sure the police really do have better things to do with their time.

The context is the drip drip drip of negative stories, squalling moonbats, endless investigations, terrorist rights, court decisions, false allegations, media spin, pflamegates, and enemies within with access to sensitive data and information being leaked, unflattering press pictures, moveon, soros, and on and on and on.

As long as you cling to specifics, you'll never see the forest through the trees. Our whole way of life is doomed if this continues unchecked.

Interesting, just what is a "justifiable crime"?

My first thought runs along that of justifiable homicide ,therefore I must suppose justifiable dog p*****g is a crime but the dog had been provoked!

If you are so manly, why were you hiding behind the curtains whilst the offenders' dogs did their business?

Buck up,man! March right out there and confront those scoundrels! For God and Queen!

Oh wait, you'd much rather send a child .Bloody 'ell!Per'aps the Jerries won after all!

I meant ‘what is justifiably a crime’. So I made a tiny error in phraseology. Congratulations on your tiny little victory. If you look more closely on all my posts, maybe you will spot some grammatical or spelling errors too, then you can have a field day...

“A real man would simply ask the owner to clean up the mess, please?”

Or what? If he isn’t embarrassed or threatened enough to obey you, what are you going to do, resort to violence? When I confronted the person who let their dog go to the toilet on my gatepost, they disappeared rapidly, and had gone by the time I reached the gate, so I had to clean it up myself. I suppose I could have hunted them down and beaten them up, but then I would have quite rightly have ended up before the beak on a charge of assault for taking the law into my own hands.

“I’m pretty sure the police really do have better things to do with their time.”

Yep, which it is why it is good for citizens to gather the evidence for them so that they can concentrate on other things. I think you may be starting to get it now...

What is “fly tipping?” Any similarities to cow tipping?

When the state run garbage tips charge too much, people are tempted to dump (tip) their load off the side of a road and fly (away, in the senses of flee).

I suspect you will eventually get it.

By then there won’t be much you can do about it.

It took Russia 3 or so generations to collapse on its own. Perhaps your great grandchildren won’t live in fear of their neighbors and own children, perhaps not.
