Boy Scouts gather discarded US Flags from Dem Convention

Just heard on Fox News. The Boy Scouts filled dozens of large trash bags with US Flags that were trampled on the ground or thrown near trash receptacles at the Democrat Convention. They are going to hold a flag-retirement ceremony to properly honor those flags that were dishonored.

Fox News reported that the discarded flags that the DNC mishandled and the Boy Scouts collected up are being distributed and reused at Colorado Springs. FNC even held up the black plastic trash bags that the flags were tossed into by the DNC.

God Bless the Boy Scouts...I, too, am a holdout from United Way at work, altho they say that all the United Way donations stay in Alaska, and we can designate to whom we want our contributions to go...ie the Boy Scouts.

So did I. Prior to my retirement, I went to some trouble to identify a Boy Scout Council that just happened to be in Idaho. The donations amounted to about $400 per year and were matched by my employer. United Way can be as liberal as they want. But they get to do without my support.

Our county United Way offices still list the Boy Scouts but,.. the Tucson and Pima County do not.

The problem with "designated" donations is that they just move somebody else's un-earmarked donation into your spot, and the 'charity', whether it's Planned Barrenhood or whoever, gets the same amount they would have gotten regardless.

It's an old shell game.

Agreed...that is why the Boy Scouts get my money directly.
