Picking Palin is all about drilling, stupid
Pajamas Media ^ | September 7, 2008 | Kyle-Ann Shiver

In Sarah Palin, John McCain has found the perfect all-American match for Imperious Nancy and her Democrat enablers, who prefer to make the Capitol posh and green and fried-food-free, rather than deal with the people’s actual need of a government that works in their interest...

She can be the Joan Of Arc for the Drill Here Drill Now Pay Less mantra.

Any smart politician will attach themselves to her coat tails on that issue, and that includes Democrats.

she is what our government has been lacking. Continual bending to envirowhackos. We have imported how many hundreds of millions of people into this nation that in the 70’s everyone preached 0% population growth. WEll, the population is still exploding, and it is up to our businesses and government to supply the needs this first rate nation demands.

Pelosi and envirowhackos go pound salt!

Energy = national security

And Gov. Palin knows that, which is why she said at her speech that Russia is using energy as a WEAPON.

I said energy had a lot to do with this pick last week. You only had to see Palin's interview with CNBC's Maria Bartiromo to figure that out. She was amazing on the energy issue with Bartiromo. Here is one part where she brings up Biden.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/26462569/site/14081545/page/2/

PALIN: WELL, LET'S LOOK AT LESSONS LEARNED OVER THE LAST 30 YEARS WHEN THE TRANSALASKA OIL PIPELINE WAS FINALLY ALLOWED TO BE BUILT AND THERE WERE THE THREATS THEN AND THE FEARS THAT THE CARIBOU HERDS WOULD DIMINISHAND DIE OFF. NO, THE CARIBOU HERDS ARE ACTUALLY THRIVING. THEY'RE FLOURISHING. THERE HAVE NOT BEEN THE ADVERSE IMPACTS ON THE CARIBOU HERDS.SO WE ANTICIPATE THE SAME THING AS WE TAP MORE ENERGY SUPPLIES UP ON THE NORTH SLOPE IN ANWR AND AS WE BUILD A NATURAL GAS PIPELINE ALSO THAT'S UNDER WAY AT THIS POINT. WHEN YOU CONSIDER THE NAYSAYERS, THE FEAR MONGERS, 30 YEARS AGO BEFORE THE TRANSALASKA OIL PIPELINE WAS BUILT -- AND REMEMBER, THAT PIPELINE HAS SUPPLIED 15 BILLION BARRELS OF OIL INTO OUR DOMESTIC SUPPLIES HERE IN AMERICA. AND BY THE WAY, BIDEN, JOE BIDEN WAS ONE WHO VOTED AGAINST THAT TRANSALASKA OIL PIPELINE 30 YEARS AGO. HE WAS FEARFUL OF ALLOWING RAMPED UP DOMESTIC SUPPLIES OF FOREIGN ENERGY EVEN THEN. SO OF COURSE I FEAR THAT IF HE'S OF THE SAME MIND TODAY WE'RE IN A WORLD OF HURT THERE. NO. THE ENVIRONMENT WILL CONTINUE TO BE PROTECTED. OUR WILDLIFE WILL CONTINUE TO THRIVE AND TO PROSPER UP THERE. AND WE'RE GOING TO MAKE SURE THAT WE HAVE THE STRINGENT AND SAFE OVERSIGHT THAT IS NECESSARY AND THAT WILL ALLOW THE POPULATION OF THIS WILDLIFE AND THE PRISTINENESS OF THE AREA TO CONTINUE.

McCain changed his mind on offshore drilling but I haven’t heard about any change on his no drilling in ANWR stand.

McCain got beat like a rented mule in the AK republican caucus in February, most likely because of his idiotic ANWR beliefs.

Maybe Palin can get him to change his mind but I’m not holding my breath.

I also like this from the link you provided:

“PALIN: WE NEED TO BE DOING EVERYTHING, AND PEOPLE NEED TO BE REALISTIC ALSO. AND THIS IS ALSO WHAT KIND OF SCARES ME ABOUT BIDEN AND OBAMA ALSO, IS IT SEEMS TO BE ALMOST A NAIVE NOTION OF THEIRS THAT WE CAN AUTOMATICALLY JUST JUMP RIGHT INTO A RENEWABLE SUPPLY OF ENERGY TO FEED HUNGRY MARKETS ACROSS OUR NATION WHEN THESE RENEWABLES ARE NOT YET PROVEN TO BE ECONOMIC NOR RELIABLE. “

http://www.cnbc.com/id/26462569/site/14081545/page/4/

You see, the naysayers exaggerate how long it will take to get the oil, but never mention how long it will take to develop and perfect the technology that they say will replace oil.

WAY more. More natgas, too. Onshore gas production from shales (of which the US has a superabundance) is up a bit more than 400% in the past 3 years alone.

When Shell and Chevron/Raytheon get kerogen production cranked up in the Green River shales in CO/WY/UT, look for your nearest sheikh to suffer a serious bout of constipation. Only thing necessary for this to occur is to get the damned goobermint out of the way (for starters on GRS, that would be 'King' Ritter and that jackass Salazar, both of Colorado).

Would you believe GRS will produce upwards of 50K bbls/acre? It will indeed, conceivably up to 80-85K bbls. With technology improvements over time, possibly up to 100-110K bbls/acre. See also the USGS' commentary:

Drilling is a States’ Rights issue. The Fed gummit has no business telling the States where they can and can't drill for oil. Small wonder Alaska wants to secede from the union.

Thanx for the link, and I’ll check it out.

Newt Gingrich estimated we have 3x as much oil as Saudi Arabia in shale oil alone!

As we all know, part of the title “It’s the Drilling, Stupid” is a take off from “It’s the Economy, Stupid,” and drilling for oil will also help our economy TREMENDOUSLY.

We saw how the high gas prices hurt the economy, plus if we drill it will create more GREAT jobs, not the Obama green jobs which will cost tax payers $$.

On the other hand, the jobs created from DRILLING will generate more tax dollars, because there will be more well-paid jobs.

Checked out the link you provided, and wow! Too bad the goobermint has an OBSTRUCTIONIST-controlled Congress.

“Overview of estimated in-place resources for the Green River Formation in Utah, Colorado. In-place shale oil resources in the Piceance Creek Basin in billions of barrels per township. Total is 1.007 trillion barrels.”

That number, btw, is almost certainly at minimum 40% low. Seems the USGS haven’t quite kept up their available resource estimates in concert with the improvements in technology in the ‘awl bidness’.
