The second wave of hatred will arrive soon. That is the hatred against small towns, rural towns and rural culture represented by Gov. Palin. They (particularly urban environmentalists) absolutely hate people in fly-over country and are well practiced at ridicule, demonization and dismissing the lifestyle, values, traditions and economy of rural west. They will roll out the Whoopi Goldbergs, the Bill Mahers and the Bonnie Rait’s. There will be more about clinging to Bibles and guns.

They will validate the sophistication and evolved values of the globally-aware residents of urban planet. You can count on it.

Hopefully, the backlash will be thundering.

A good article, and from the “Guardian”. But I think the writer misunderstood something here:

Nope, the “shock jocks” didn’t become politically correct, and they sure didn’t become feminists, they just pointed out the shameless hypocrisy of the left, and of the feminists in particular, whose stone silence on the Clinton/Lewinsky episode proved what hypocrites they were/are, and their concern for women strangely disappeared when the predator was a liberal president whose diminishment would have harmed the leftist, liberal, feminist cause.

All last week, he was warning American liberals to stay away from the Palin family. He understands better than his supporters that it is not a politician's enemies who lose elections, but his friends.

I suppose you can't blame the author for not seeing this clearly if he is an Englishman. He misread the fact that, in usual Chicago smear machine fashion, Osama send his minions out to slime her and then pretended to be above it all afterwards. To suggest that Osama was trying to get them to stop is beyond naive.
