Obama took four questions from reporters in Riverside, OH, where he dismissed the recent shift to McCain in public polling.
The polls "swing wildly" and have over the course of his long campaign, he said. "One of the benefits of having run a 19-month race is that we have been through all kinds of twists and turns," he said.
Though polls do show women, in particular, moving to McCain, Obama suggested that Governor Sarah Palin's appeal is actually to the conservative GOP base.
"Theres no doubt that the Republicans are excited, particularly the right wing of the Republican Party, are excited about Governor Palin's choice. I think that has less to do with gender than with her ideological predispositions, which are closely in line with theirs," he said.
Obama just expanded the definition of “right wing” to include just about all average Americans - excepting those who are rabidly pro-abortion and pro-tax.
Huzzah!
Did this genius come up with this all by hisse’f?
