What would be the consequences if Obama tried to replace Biden with a woman?

I am not sure if intrading is trading on the Proposition that Obama drops Biden for Clinton or Sibelius, but what would be the political consequences if he were to attempt to do it?

Could he actually do it and get away with it?

What would be the consequences if Obama tried to replace Biden with a woman?

Answer:

The new Republican slogan would be..

"If he'd do that to Joe Biden just think what he'll do to you!"

Or

Obama - Biden Sibelius - Win at any cost!"

Hillary is not going down with this sinking ship and she is the only person in the world, male or fmale, who could even help him make it close.

The fact that we are even entertaining this in such a manner is telling.

It's not that telling. dems would throw their grandmothers under the bus for a win.

If he dumps Biden, will he dump Hillary if women still like Sarah?

Is this how he'll pick generals? Fight a war? Fill his cabinet?

It's possible people like Sarah because of the person she is and not because of the sex organs she was born with. If that's the case ( and it is) Dems will be seen as sexist - and Republicans will be seen as people who have transcended sexism. And Obama will be seen as someone who can't make up his mind and stick with an option.

LOL - we'd have a field day with this one.

In order to make it look half-way convincing, Biden would have to fall on his sword in some spectacular way,

Maybe if he pulled a Wellstone? Or, since Alaska is part of this picture, a Hale Boggs?

It can only be done if Biden dies in a small plane crash, or is suddenly revealed to have incurable cancer in an advanced state, or is otherwise seen to be unfit to run.

Biden could say "I have just been told by my physician that I have melanoma, so I must withdraw from the race for my own health and the good of the country."

This could work for the following reasons:

I think it would be a mistake, though, for him to choose either Hillary or another woman. His best bet would be to really shake things up by choosing the Republican governor of Louisiana, Bobby Jindal!

“””In order to make it look half-way convincing, Biden would have to fall on his sword in some spectacular way, and Obama would “reluctantly” select another running mate. Only way it flies with the public. Could be done.”””

I think the only way he might get away with changing to a woman is for Joe Biden to have a “sudden health” concern, making him “unable” to continue to be the VP “candidate”....

My (quite humble) opinion:

Hillary is the only solution for Obama - but she will only run in the top spot.

Obama is screwed and he knows it.

Biden would have to die. That’s the only way Obama could replace him without his campaign falling apart.

“What do you think would happen if they replaced Biden with Caroline Kennedy? Could it happen?”

It’s unlikely. Kennedy is wholly unqualified; she has no experience whatsoever.

John McCain seems absolutely delighted that his crowds have swelled because of Sarah Palin.

Duh!.....he's a lame duck...he knew it and everybody else knew it...the hordes were not busting down his door to help him get elected....'til Princess Sarah rode in on her white horse to save his azz....

There's nothing untrue about what you've said, but I will give him credit for figuring out that he needed to point a direction for the future of the Republican Party. Barry totally muffed that by picking some boring old guy who would not be fit to lead eight years from now.

I do shudder when I reflect that if the coin toss had gone the other way, we'd be seeing LIEberman's ugly puss on the tube instead of Palin's bright smile.
