Remembering 911 --- 7 Years Later
..
On Thursday is the seventh Anniversary that our country was savagely attacked and the united hearts of our nation cried out in pain.. Here are a few pix that I chose out of the more than 1200 I have on file. Feel free to post your pix, your memories, where you were and what you were doing that day and perhaps how this has impacted your life.

WTC tribute ~ with Enya music
Anyone ever wonder what the lyrics are to Enya's "Only Time"
that is played in the background of some 9/11 memorials online,
such as in this excellent tribute(above) :
Who can say where the road goes
Where the day flows, only time
And who can say if your love grows
As your heart chose, only time
Who can say why your heart sighs
As your love flies, only time
And who can say why your heart cries
When your love lies, only time
Who can say when the roads meet
That love might be in your heart
And who can say when the day sleeps
If the night keeps all your heart
Night keeps all your heart
Who can say if your love grows
As your heart chose
- Only time
And who can say where the road goes
Where the day flows, only time
Who knows? Only time

THE STAIRWELL....
You say you will never forget where you were when
you heard the news On September 11, 2001.
Neither will I.
I was on the 110th floor in a smoke filled room
with a man who called his wife to say 'Go od-Bye.' I
held his fingers steady as he dialed. I gave him the
peace to say, 'Honey, I am not going to make it, but it
is OK..I am ready to go.'
I was with his wife when he called as she fed
breakfast to their children. I held her up as she
tried to understand his words and as she realized
he wasn't coming home that night.
I was in the stairwell of the 23rd floor when a
woman cried out to Me for help. 'I have been
knocking on the door of your heart for 50 years!' I said.
'Of course I will show you the way home - only
believe in Me now.'
I was at the base of the building with the Priest
ministering to the injured and devastated souls.
I took him home to tend to his Flock in Heaven. He
heard my voice and answered.
I was on all four of those planes, in every seat,
with every prayer. I was with the crew as they
were overtaken. I was in the very hearts of the
believers there, comforting and assuring them that their
faith has saved them.
I was in Texas , Virginia , California , Michigan , Afghanistan .
I was standing next to you when you heard the terrible news.
Did you sense Me?
I want you to know that I saw every face. I knew
every name - though not all know Me. Some met Me
for the first time on the 86th floor.
Some sought Me with their last breath.
Some couldn't hear Me calling to them through the
smoke and flames; 'Come to Me... this way... take
my hand.' Some chose, for the final time, to ignore Me.
But, I was there.
I did not place you in the Tower that day. You
may not know why, but I do. However, if you were
;there in that explosive moment in time, would you have
reached for Me?
Sept. 11, 2001, was not the end of the journey
for you . But someday your journey will end. And I
will be there for you as well. Seek Me now while I may
be found. Then, at any moment, you know you are
'ready to go.'
I will be in the stairwell of your final moments.

Thanks Dolly for this wonderful remembrance.
I think I watched United 93 all 3 times they showed it in the last few days. Plus all the docudramas regarding the WTC buildings. I cried a lot.
You’re right .. it doesn’t take long to get back that feeling of outrage .. and now to have the dems release a 9/11 report and claim GW has not kept us safe for the last 7 years. Good grief .. will they ever stop the hate-Bush mantra ..??

And to think nearly half the people in this country hate our President, who has prevented a repeat of this horror for seven years, and want to elect Socialist leaning appeasers to the most powerful positions in our Government.
Ignorance is bliss, until the cows come home of course.

Thank you for the post.
It makes me so sad to see those pictures, but it's necessary to remind me what this entire country went through that day. I'm saddened for the families who lost loved ones, for those who knew they were going to die, and for the responders who bravely tried to rescue people.
I'm so grateful for so many things and for so many people that day. Todd Beamer and company, including the operator who prayed with him, are heroes as well. They were so selfless in their attempt to prevent another attack.
I'm grateful that President Bush and Rudy Giuliani were such strong leaders. President Bush's statement on top of the rubble will forever be etched in my memory, along with the firemen raising the flag.
That day was my defining moment. Everybody has one, and for me that was it.
Again, thank you for posting.
Oh, I can't forget BKO. She was a class act, even in the face of danger.

Thank you, DollyCali,
They lit the twin beams of light starting Monday night. I see it every time I look in that direction. I live close by, and lost friends and neighbors on that horrible Tuesday morning.
They are a beautiful, fitting tribute to those 3,000 souls. I think they should have that as the permanent memorial.

I often think of 911.
While reading this thread I suddenly realized how much happier we would all be if it had never happened. It was a weight yoked to everyone concerned about their country and it won’t be taken off until AQ, and islamic terror in general, are completely wiped off of this earth.
