I was just over on the Democratic Underground site to see what they might be saying about Sarah Paulin, and I noticed something very peculiar about the people who post there - they don't post complete thoughts. I went through thread after thread, and they were all alike. I had logged on there hoping to read some provocative commentary and to get a feel for what hard-core leftists are thinking, but I couldn't find any posts of any substance - no insightful or well-thought out comments. For the most part, people there just type a little blurb in the heading of their post, but don't follow up with any written statements. If you're lucky, you might find a smiley face or a LOL in the body of their posts, but not much more. Why does the term shallow come to mind?

Because the left are idiots and morons who don't think. They feel. They use their FEEEEEEEELIIIIIINGGS! In other words they use their emotions. These morons have no education, no free will, anyone who questions them is a fascist, a racist and a homophobe. They have no logical arguments whatsoever. Is there a leftwing Freerepublic-type site? A place where people post articles, add comments and links to make their points, etc etc from a leftwing perspective? I feel bad for the few DUmmies who actually are just leftwing freepers, their work just gets overshadowed when “F*%K!!!!!” is used on a daily basis in comments and thread titles. I also feel sorry for any religious leftwing person who might want to post or read info from there. They are pretty small minded when it comes to God.

Something that I have noticed about DUmmy land, when they have a poll, there is usually only about 25-50 total voters participating.

Sometimes we can’t help but hear people who use foul language to try and get their point across. Reading foul language is a total waste of time regardless of the point.

Anything that is Palin gossip they post it and feed on it. They don't base their gossip on fact. They come off looking obsessed with her. You picture them as children sitting in a classroom eying her up and down with seething jealousy and if her hair isn't just perfect or she's wearing a questionable outfit they are ready to trash her.
They just throw it out there and say, go for it. Hope the MSM points this out. Email this story. Keep it going. I've seen more then a few of their dedicated begging them to stop with all the dirt and gossip fearing it's backfiring and then about ten others will yell at the person and tell them to “eff” off for trying to silence the gossip.
They openly admit the gossip is baseless but their hope is that even if it's a lie at the expense of that families good name in the long run it's worth it. Just one casualty as compared to their belief that a McCain victory would just devastate a multitude of others so they continue the childish gossip.
What they don't see is that they are making fools of themselves. People watching and reading are shaking their heads in disgust and the only ones taking a bite out of their gossip is just them. They are literally feeding their own frenzy. No one else wants to hear it. They live for the next new spoonful of gossip and believe it will some how make all the difference in the world. What they don't get is that it does make a difference. The difference is that it's making them look worse and worse.
Instead of informing each other on what they may feel is important information for their base politically it looks like a blog created by a jealous, hateful, out of control 13 year old. I'm still waiting for a thread that is titled... Sarah Palin Has Cooties.
I believe that this thread is proving to be very clear evidence of which I speak, your bologna picture excepted, of course.

You are right about DU. And you might add that their language is terrible. X-rated.
But as much as it pains me to say so, take a look at your own thread and count the well thought out in-depth comments. There are a few, way more than you will find on DU, but the facts of the matter are that FR is becoming more and more like a chat session. Lots of "gotcha" comments. Lots of one liners.
Now chat is fun. And it is fun on FR too. So I'm reluctant (well not too reluctant, obviously) to criticize my fellow Freepers. I guess I just remember "the good old days" when the postings were fewer, longer, and (perhaps) better.
For newbies - this is called a rant and you only get one per year on FR so I'm booked up for the rest of decade.
