Report: Palin Asked Rick Warren For Advice

Posted by Vaughn Ververs| Comments5

GOP VP nominee Sarah Palin called influential pastor Rick Warren earlier this week to ask for advice on how to handle the criticism that has come her way, The Hill reports.

In a California radio interview, Warren said that Palin had called him to seek help in dealing with the “unfair, unjust” attacks she said she believes had been launched at her since being tapped as John McCain’s running mate. Warren recounted the conversation, saying he responded by saying, “the question I asked her was 'how can I pray for you?'"

Warren said Palin asked him to “send her some bible verses on how do you deal with the unfair, unjust attacks and the mean-spirited criticism that comes in."

Make the insults into a joke, smile and then wave. Works every time.

“I just lost some respect for her.”

I would suggest you wait until the story is vetted.

It may not even be true.

Sarah, feel blessed that they are attacking you because of your faith. Jesus said as much.

Besides, Jesus is the ultimate example of someone unjustly attacked and punished,

how can we, as his followers, expect not to be unjustly attacked and punished as well.

Ask yourself, “Is this worse than a dead Jesus?”. Perspective.

John 15:18
[ The World Hates the Disciples ] “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.

John 15:19
If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

1 John 3:13
Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you.

Palin has her own pastor (in Alaska). I doubt she asked Warren for advice. Even though he claims it to be true (in a BS interview), I seriously doubt his claim.

With all the lies out there, I wonder if this is true.

Remind me never to bring anything personal or sensitive to the attention of Mr. Warren.

Amen to that! It's like the time Dr. Phil visited Britney Spears during her breakdown and blabbed directly to the press. He should have been kicked out of the American Psychological Association. (Except that the APA is already corrupt... but that's another thread.)

Sara, keep your head up, shoulders straight and keep your eye on the prize. They are never going to love you and as soon as you realize that the better!

Doesn't pass the smell test.

Bingo. Warren supports Obama. Surely she and her advisors know that.

I call BS. They may have talked and she might have asked for some recommendations, but I doubt that was the reason for the call.

I found the audio here. I had to right click and hit ‘save target as’ and save to my desktop. The audio is actually on the huffington post site.

Warren’s apparently an a$$.

What’s the best way of letting Gov. Palin know that we support her and appreciate her enormous sacrifice — give her some love in a big, FreeRepublic way?

He would very rarely, occasionally make a fairly generalized comment about some well known topic/situation/incident

after the politician had died.

Personally, I never heard of the guy until the Ashley Smith hostage ordeal a few years ago.

In this case, I’m going to assume that Rick W cleared with Sarah before that conversation ended what he could share and what he couldn’t.
