Tonight, Sarah Palin sat down with Charlie Gibson for an interview, and ABC showed us Charlie’s first two segments. The first portion dealt with her readiness for leadership, and the second dealt with foreign policy. I’ll let you watch and be the judge, but I think Sarah’s ready for her closeup. Others in the blogosphere thought she didn’t do well, but seeing as Charlie had his questions prepared, Sarah did not have her answers prepared, and the fact that I do not believe these questions have ever been asked of an other V.P. candidate, I’m still pleased with her performance. And in that vein, I agree with her; what other V.P., former-governor, candidates have extensive experience in foreign relations? She’s been running a state, for God’s sake!

She did great and he made a fool of himself. He is still mad that she doesn’t care what the Dinosaurs think. What a pompus jerk.
Pray for W, McCuda and Our Troops
Gibson left the “prayer” part out the will of God, and misrepresented her views.
The “Bush Doctrine” got the Fox panel into an argument over exactly what it was.
Nobody seemed to know.
No real “got ya”, nice first at bat.
Chalrey Gibson is a condescending asshat, looking over his damned glasses like he’s the teacher and Governor Palin is the child. If it were not so darn nice to see Sarah speak extemporaneously, Charles Gibson would be intolerable. ... Liberal pukes
She did very well! Especially considering that the Democratic machine threw everything they had into this interview to try to damage her. They desperately wanted "shocking" headlines from this interview. She did well enough that they had to obviously edit some of her comments out.
What I noticed:
1. Sarah did a great job with some very tough questions.
Questions on the level I have never seen asked of a VP candidate, or even some Presidential candidates in the last 35 years.
2. Sarah did not get rattled. She was a fluid speaker—no uh’s, um’s.
3. Sarah has a very clear view of the world and of her country, and of what is most important in life. Not like Obama, who always talks like he is in a values shooting gallery, trying to hit something, anything.
4. Charlie Gibson did not even show her the minimum level of respect due to her AS A GOVERNOR of a state.
5. Charlie Gibson was dismissive and patronizing.
6. Sarah showed that she has faced condescending men like this before. She handled him very well.
7. Sarah did not flinch from handling foreign policy questions. I could see her as President very easily.
8. Sarah uses very powerful hand gestures when she speaks. These gestures indicate a surety of belief in what she is saying, and not trying to be inclusive. She has a point to make, and uses the gestures to reinforce that. Watch carefully when she speaks—you will see it if you are looking for it.
9. Charlie Gibson was a condescending, disrespectful man. I already said that, but it needed repeating.
10. Sarah showed she can handle gotcha type questions. I can’t wait to see her debate with Joe Biden. He better wear some extra-strength Depends.
I don’t think so. I think this was probably part of the McCain strategy, let the arrogant, hostile press try to best her and fail. I bet in the vetting they played Devil’s Adovocate with her to see how well she would stand up to unfriendly questioning.
I wondered why they didn’t choose Fox but then I thought what the left would say about that. I think it worked.
Now, I like Sarah & thought McCain rocked the world with this pick! But if, God forbid, McCain drops dead within a short period of time, is a "President Palin" ready to lead my country in all aspects of the job? Jeez, I don't know. I know she has more exec. exp. then the others, but this interview did raise some doubts for me. But, McCuda's the best we got for now so...gotta run with it.

It appeared to me that he was doing everything possible to present Gov. Palin in an unfavorable light. Everything that he did seemed calculated to do this--from the timbre of his voice to his body language.
He looked like a bully to me, reducing his voice to a growl and using his height to look down upon her. Governor Palin stood up to him masterfully. She refused to be intimidated by him or bullied, and she refused to allow his louder voice to force hers to become shrill and unflattering.
She came across as smart, courageous, and self-confident.
My impression of Charlie Gibson could not have been worse, and I know nothing about this man and have no reason to have a negative impression of him other than this interview.
Sarah did just fine.
Gibsons performance actually made her look good.
I sure don’t see what all the complaining is about.
I had the same thought, having suffered almost 8 years of W getting flack for the same. I hate to see the MSM have that, of all idiosyncrasies, to use against her.

I think her slight nervousness revealed her perspective of the Office she might hold. She sees the awesomeness of the responsibility, and the hard reality of the world we live in. There are no rose colored glasses that we “can all just get along” that the liberal establishment see the world stage through. I don’t think the likes of Obama or Biden are serious enough to look at that position as a burden and a duty rather than a power trip or ego boost.
Nervous? She should be! Liberals live in the safety of their own delusional little worlds....
As a former liberal, I must absolutely positively totally disagree with you.
Back in 1993, I watched Rush Limbaugh a few times on television, out of curiosity. I was a liberal back then, and thought that he was very smooth at avoiding all the questions I would have asked him, to which he obviously didn't have any answer.
Then, while I was in the game room/bowling alley of the student union, the Phil Donahue program came on with Rush Limbaugh as a guest. I watched for that hour, and was positively riveted and amazed. Phil Donahue was asking the questions that I, as a liberal, wanted asked (so as to show that Rush didn't have the answers). Rush responded to the questions, which I was sure would stump him, clearly and unequivocally. I didn't agree with his answers at the time, but the fact that he could actually answer such questions, and that he did so without stumbling or equivocating, was something totally new to me. It didn't instantly turn me conservative, but it definitely planted some of the seeds.
Sarah Palin did great in her interview. There were a couple spots that were edited to unfairly make her look bad, but since the show was so obviously chopped to pieces (F minus to the editor), I expect that if she can show the real truth she'll win over a lot of former liberals.

He was very mean and nasty, dismissive, elitist and condescending. Nasty nasty man! I thought she handled herself very well. She is a true lady. She does need to get mean, though. Not really mean but she needs to learn the art of intimidation. Like Lady Thatcher. I bet he wouldn’t have treated Lady Thatcher that way. I can just hear her “Now don’t be cheeky, young man”. LOL
