Lord we also lift up John McCain and Sarah Palin. We pray that they would trust you to meet all their needs according to Your riches in glory by Jesus Christ.
Heavenly Father, please take care of our troops who are in harms way. Give them the wisdom and the strength to carry out their duties. May those who know you grow in the grace and knowledge of you and may countless others come to know you as their Lord and Savior. We ask all these things in Jesus’ name, amen.

We ask that you protect and guide John McCain and Sarah Palin each hour as they work to secure the future of our nation. Help them and help us defeat Your enemies and do Your will. In the Holy Name of our precious Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
We know that our President is praying for those whose lives have been taken or interrupted by this onslaught of hurricanes. He has been our strength, Lord. Bless him and keep him close to You.
Take care of our warriors, young and old, and cover them with Your grace. Bless all working to save this country, and others, from tyranny.
Let tomorrow bring a bright new day, and blessings for a new future of freedom from hatred and fear. Let us walk boldly in Your name.

Dear Lord, open the blind eyes and soften the hard hearts of those that have come to hate this Land and her citizens. You have blessed us with so many blessings. Please protect and give Your Strength to those are called to defend our Nation. Please give Your Wisdom and Guidance to our President,his staff and to Gov. Sarah and Sen. McCain.

Joan Rosenhauer, Associate Director for the USCCB’s Department of Justice, Peace and Human Development, said that the special novena is part of “the bishops’ campaign to help Catholics develop well-formed consciences for addressing political and social questions.” The bishops issued their statement on forming consciences for faithful citizenship in November 2007.
Helen Osman, USCCB Secretary of Communications, expressed hope that the novena could help “Catholics enter into prayerful reflection as they prepare to vote.” Seventy-one percent of all visitors to the USCCB’s web site download the free podcasts of the daily NAB readings. These same visitors are encouraged to use the novena podcast for prayer. Osman said that the USCCB wants to support Catholics as they weigh pre-election issues and that “providing a prayer resource on the Web can help us focus on our common values and identity as Catholics.” The novena emphasizes the dignity of life, justice, and peace.
The Novena for Faithful Citizenship runs for nine days and can be used consecutively, one day each week, for nine days prior to the election, or “in any way that works best for a community or individual,” said Rosenhauer.
The novena will be available for download until the election and it can be downloaded online at http://www.faithfulcitizenship.org/resources/podcasts.

Sarah Palin is a born-again, Spirit-filled Godly person who said ‘yes’ when asked recently to serve her country. Since then, Gov. Palin asked my daughter Rosanne, who is part of her staff in Anchorage , for prayer, and so over the weekend Rosanne and I put together the attached ‘Psalm for Sarah for 66.’ It’s intercessory prayer using Psalm 27 for the 66 days between the date of Sarah’s accepting McCain’s offer and election day, Nov. 4; it’s not about who wins the election or about politics or your voting choice.
We’ve sent it to a number of Christians across the county so would you also pray for Gov. Palin in this Esther-like time of her life? You might also pass it along or copy any one who might pray.
