YES

Of the 305,000 employees removed from the federal payroll, 286,000 (or 90%) were military cuts. The statistics for America’s defense during the Clinton years reveal the deep-seated animosity of the administration toward those who served in the military. The Army was cut from 18 divisions to 12. The Navy was reduced from 546 ships to 380. Air Force flight squadrons were cut from 76 to 50.

The SOB whacked my contract. The un-intended consequence forced the military to take the operation back at an added cost of millions.

THESE IS HOW OUR MILITARY WAS DECIMATED UNDER (COMMANDER IN CHIEF)CLINTON, SUPPORTED 100% BY JOHN KERRY (THESE VOTES HE DID SHOW UP FOR). THEIR TERRIBLE JUDGMENT IS WHY OUR MILITARY IS STRETCHED NOW...ALL DUE TO THE DEMOCRAT PARTY LEADERSHIP (I USE THE TERM LOOSELY). Send to all...people need to know what they’re voting for.

709,000 REGULAR (ACTIVE DUTY) PERSONNEL.

293,000 RESERVE TROOPS.

EIGHT STANDING ARMY DIVISIONS!

20 AIR FORCE AND NAVY AIR WINGS WITH 2,000 COMBAT AIRCRAFT

232 STRATEGIC BOMBERS.

9 STRATEGIC BALLISTIC MISSILE SUBMARINES WITH 3,114 NUCLEAR WARHEADS ON 232 MISSILES.

500 ICBMs WITH 1,950 WARHEADS.

FOUR AIRCRAFT CARRIERS AND 121 SURFACE COMBAT SHIPS AND SUBMARINES PLUS ALL THE SUPPORT BASES, SHIPYARDS, AND LOGISTICAL ASSETS NEEDED TO SUSTAIN SUCH A NAVAL FORCE.

Sen. John Kerry, Democrat from Massachusetts:

He voted to kill the Bradley Fighting Vehicle He voted to kill the M-1 Abrams Tank He voted to kill every Aircraft carrier laid down from 1988 He voted to kill the Aegis anti aircraft system He voted to Kill the F-15 strike eagle

He voted to Kill the Block 60 F-16 He voted to Kill the P-3 Orion upgrade He voted to Kill the B-1 He voted to Kill the B-2 He voted to Kill the Patriot anti Missile system

He voted to Kill the FA-18 He voted to Kill the F117 He voted to kill every military appropriation for the development and deployment of every weapons systems since 1988, including a bill for battle armor for our troops.

John Kerry voted to kill all anti-terrorism activities of each and every agency of the U.S. Government. He voted to cut the funding of the FBI by 60%. He voted to cut the funding for the CIA by 80%. He voted to cut the funding for the NSA by 80%. THEN, he voted to increase OUR funding for corrupt operations by 800% !!

Voting history can be accessed through Senate voting records. The above is an accurate summary

How could he? The line item veto was found to be unconstitutional. Congress makes and passes the budget. It’s not an executive power.

He didn’t CUT the military.

He GUTTED it.

Then he/she/they bragged about how much they had cut spending.

I need sources, information to back this up. What about intelligence cuts during the Clinton Administration?

I think it should be added that he used up a lot of supplies, and left the supply chain pretty empty. You’d have to get the details from someone else, but one notorious thing he did was expend ALL of one kind of cruise missile and most of the other kind (air launched and sea launched). I believe he also saved money by neglecting to replace aircraft spare parts and the like.

It was estimated that it would take two or three years to start up the production lines again before we could even BEGIN replacing those cruise missiles.

If you just type in:
did clinton cut military and intelligence spending many sites will come up. This is just one:

http://www.seasonsecurity.com/obama-or-national-security-47278

This site said that he cut that spending by 35% and that 911 happened about 9 months later.

As one of the over 1 million folks in the defense and intelligence sectors who lost their job during the “Clinton Peace Dividend”, it was real. If it hadn't been for the Submarine Good ‘Old Boy network, I would have been in real trouble. (Some Good ‘Old Boy Networks are better than others ;-)

He cut a lot of money from the intelligence community, which resulted in a huge gap in humint collectors. It was the classic peace dividend which allowed him in part to balance the budget. Of course, 9/11 was the result.

Yes, I don’t have details, but the military hated him. Reports after he was out of office surfaced about how difficult it was to be respectful to him.

Same old hype, no one has a true link. All of those military cut backs were started under George Bush. The current Jorge's father. However, cuts and etc, to the CIA was during clintoon.

Clinton appointee: Jamie Gorelick was deputy attorney general of the United States, a position she assumed in March 1994. From May 1993 until she joined the Justice Department, Gorelick served as general counsel of the Department of Defense. She was responsible the "Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act:

The FISA act

The so-called "wall was enacted in 1978" preventing sharing information between FBI & CIA.

Correct me on this if i'm wrong.

Total defense outlays are easy to get a hold of, but total intelligence expenditures are usually kept secret.

As a percentage of the total budget, Clinton's cuts in defense were extreme and took years to build back up.

Outlays for defense dropped with Clinton even in terms of current dollars.  Let's face it; the Dems gutted defense and it took years to repair the damage.

Bush-bashers never mention that rebuilding defense was the biggest cause of increases in post 9/11 federal spending.

Can’t give specifics but can relate that hubby was in military, in Pentagon, doing budget stuff and complained bitterly of all the cuts and reductions. Bubba “balanced the budget” on the back of the Defense Dept - known fact.

When I was in the military under Clinton, our unit didn’t have enough money to do training exercises.
That’s what our commander told us.
