BREAKING NEWS: Obama Allegedly Undermined U.S. Foreign Policy in Iraq

Stick a fork in Obama: he's done

The following is in today's New York Post,. The bottom line is that Barack Obama allegedly attempted to undermine official U.S. policy in Iraq, an action that could have endangered thousands of lives as well as regional peace and security, for his own political benefit. We encourage our readers to circulate this story as widely as possible, because it alone should mean the end of Obama's candidacy.

OBAMA TRIED TO STALL GIS' IRAQ WITHDRAWAL by Amir Taheri

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

"He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington," Zebari said in an interview.

...Obama has given Iraqis the impression that he doesn't want Iraq to appear anything like a success, let alone a victory, for America. The reason? He fears that the perception of US victory there might revive the Bush Doctrine of "pre-emptive" war - that is, removing a threat before it strikes at America.

We must now ask whether Obama is merely wishing for our country's foreign policy to fail in Iraq, or whether he is working actively to cause it to fail.

Nothing in the MSM, but they are fretting and hand-wringing at the Huffington Post:

Please Barack Say it's Nonsense that You Tried to Stall Troop Withdrawal until after the Elections

Since its now at the HuffPo, the MSM cannot say they didn't know about it.

“BREAKING NEWS: Obama Allegedly Undermined U.S. Foreign Policy in Iraq”

It’s exactly what he’s been promising he’d do as President.

This would appear to be more than just a rumor:

“According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

“He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington,” Zebari said in an interview.”

The source seems to be legitimate.

Riiiiight. How many times will we hear this pronouncement between now and November? Sorry Winged, but there's been a dozen things Obama's done that cooked him, but he's still raking in money, advertising, and the Dems are still gonna vote in his favor.

It sounds like a violation of the Logan act.

The Logan Act is effectively null and void today.

When there is nobody around with enough spine to enforce the law, it ceases to be the law.

Although he's having trouble, Zero is far from being done yet and to think/say so would be a big mistake. Without some proof, this will go nowhere. To push it without sources is to act like "0".

Interesting thought. This may actual hurt him with the left wingers.. He tried to delay the withdrawal, which goes against the left’s mantra of get us out now.

Kind of like the Black Sox scandal from 90yrs ago, say it ain’t so Joe? From Sox fans.

Politico has the “denial”, although to me it reads more of an “interpretation” of the conversation. He said, He said, etc. (Although they do get in the obligatory McCain is running a sleazy campaign bit.)

It has always been the practice of these leftist extremist like Obama and his fellow travelers, that the end justifies the means. Whatever that can be conceived to get control will be used. The McCain photo is a stupid, immature example of how they think, but is in keeping with the Liberal’s ethic. The left’s insanity and stupidity will be on full display until the election, because of their desperation.

I just heard it from the guy who is covering the Obama camp on Fox news. That was supposedly their initial response.

A commenter on Ace of Spades posted a link to an MSNBC article by a reporter named Athena Jones, citing a press conference Obama held on June 16, 2008.

FLINT, Mich. — Obama reiterated his commitment to withdrawing U.S. troops from Iraq during a telephone conversation this morning with the country’s foreign minister, he told reporters in a 10-minute press conference on the tarmac here.

I’m still skeptical of the two sources, but I’m saving the web page just in case.

Interesting...

Obama is bigger scum than I thought.

This would be a huge “October Surprise” story if it were a GOP nominee.

The arrogance is unbelievable and the action is heinous.
